Looks like a stopgap until Beli gets healthy again.
Per Marc Stein, close to signing 10-day with the Spurs. Backing up Kawhi?
Looks like a stopgap until Beli gets healthy again.
Made a bunch of 3s for GS in 2011.
If they sign him on Saturday, he'll be on the roster for 5 of the 6 remaining games before the break.
Should have just kept Daye. It's so much harder to negotiate a trade with his contract gone.
That assumes the Spurs want to trade anyone.
No, it doesn't.
It's official now

SAN ANTONIO (Jan. 28, 2015) - The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have signed forward Reggie Williams of the Oklahoma City Blue to a 10-day contract.
Williams, 6-6/210, has appeared in 13 games this season for the Blue of the NBA D-League, averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.08 steals in 31.9 minutes. He has also spent time in the D-League with the Blue in 2013-14 and the Sioux Falls Skyforce in 2009-10. In 69 career D-League games, he has averaged 22.3 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists in 37.7 minutes.
In the NBA, the Virginia native has suited up for the Oklahoma City Thunder (2013-14), Charlotte Hornets (2011-13) and the Golden State Warriors (2009-11). In 180 total games, he has averaged 8.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 19.7 minutes.
Williams has also played internationally for San Miguel Beerman of the Philippines (2014), Caja Laboral of Spain (2011) and JDA Dijon of France (2008-09). He played collegiately at the Virginia Military Ins ute (2004-08).
Williams will wear No. 55 for the Silver and Black.
OK, then there's no need to make trades easier.
Fair enough.
What's his race and vert? How tall is he? Can he do ally-opp's?
There's an infinitesimal chance that anyone they trade for will play meaningful postseason minutes. I agree - not sure why people think a blockbuster is in the works.
Kind of sad when your highest PPG was your rookie year and each year afterwards is a downwards slope.
Remember liking him with GS. Hustle and energy guy. But haven't paid any attention since then.
I like that the Spurs are at least auditioning guys.
Can he play backup SG?
That's about all he can play.
Didn't have to be a blockbuster. Almost ANY trade would have been easier with Daye's contract still on the books. Even an Ayres trade. Simply put, that had much more value (and a much higher chance of affecting the roster) than these 10-days. Daye could always be cut if the team found a Danny Green or James Johnson. He can't always be traded.
Perfect IMO. That's all I needed to hear
Well the Danny Green or James Johnson can't be found if the roster is full.
Of course they can. They just can't be signed with a full roster.
