Update: Ford played in his first game in over 1 1/2 years on Saturday, scoring 12 points with four assists, five turnovers and three steals in Milwaukee's preseason victory over the Cavaliers.

Recommendation: The injury risk will follow Ford this season, but he could be a nice payoff for a fantasy owner willing to take a chance on him.

Point guard T.J. Ford played for the first time since a frightening neck injury late in the 2003 season on Saturday, leading the new-look Bucks in scoring and minutes. Ford hit five of his nine shot attempts, scoring 17 points and adding four assists and three steals in 28 minutes.

Ford averaged 6.5 assists per game as a rookie, so there is reason to follow his return. If he can wrestle the starting job back from Maurice Williams—who did not play on Saturday because of a foot sprain—Ford has definite upside as a distributor.
