I can't say I ever bought one of his albums. Graceland was OK from the few songs I heard.

But I did like some of his older stuff. Some had great vibes. Of course he had some classics with Garfunkel

My favorite Simon song is probably Late in the Evening. Also dug Fifty Ways to Leave Your Lover.

Graceland is one of the best albums ever made, imo.

Simon is one of those who you can mix with Jackson Browne, Jim Croce, Cat Stevens, Elton John, Billy Joel, Billy Joe Royal, Harry Nilsson, Randy Newman, B.J.Thomas etc but is weak when it's just him. Wouldn't listen to more than two Paul Simon songs in a row.

I did find out a few months ago that the Simon & Garfunkel classic....Sound of Silence....has an earlier version they recorded. I actually like it better.

Simon with the boffo lyrics, but G-man killed with sounds, man. Musically, the more talented of the two, methinks. Dig this:

I'm watching this all black gospel group on America Has Talent totally nailing it shut. These people on a whole other level.

I've heard/read about how Freddie Mercury, Steve Perry had some serious vocals, trust me those two wouldn't make a zit on the butt of those great black vocal groups from the 50's/60's like the Orioles, Coasters, Five Satins, Flamingos, Drifters, etc etc. There is the real talent.

There is a famous recording from the late 30's, here we have a trained chroir doing an old blues tune....St.Louis Blues. In a word.....amazing~~~
