bring the Saints to San Antonio! I know you love your Saints as much as we love our Spurs, so fight for your "TEAM". Many people will say that Benson was moving the Saints anyway, even if Katrina wouldn't have happened. But, if there wouldn't have been no hurricane, the city officials of NO and Benson probably would sit down and discuss the situation. Now it seems Benson is not going to wait to hear what NO has to offer, he's wants to move "your Saints" to SA. DON'T LET THAT HAPPEN!!
The people of San Antonio look ridiculous cheering for a team they know nothing about. You look at the Spurs fans, and they look natural cheering for the Spurs. Now look at the SA fans cheering for the Saints, they look like they're auditioning for a movie. They're just pretending to be fans!! Oh Brother!!!

Mayor Hardenlogger, burger, oh whatever the your name is, and the city of San Antonio, you have right in front of you, a great 3 time Champion, with great players, and a great coach. You have a chance to experience something special with this talented group. Lets show the same effort in support of the San Antonio Spurs, as you all are giving the Saints. In fact, you should giving more! Let's all be thankful we have "our Spurs".

I'm not great at detecting internet sarcasm with someone I don't know...are you serious? If not, were you at the games? The crowd has 'adopted' the team, if only for a few games, and are really getting into it. Auditioning my ass, what you've seen has been pure enjoyment. And when haven't we shown great effort supporting the Spurs? I'm not suggesting that NO shouldn't want to keep their team, whether that's feasible or not is an entirely different argument. However, to suggest that we're doing a crappy job supporting either the Saints or the Spurs is pretty ridiculous.

dude, i like the texans, but when i went to one of their games(it was a very close game too), i just didn't have the same excitement as when i rooted for the saints yesterday. yesterday, i was almost cheering as if they were the spurs..

either way, it was bad ass to have a team you adopted playing there... i don't have season tickets for the spurs..no way i'd go to 41 games...but i sure as would buy season tickets to the saints even though they would probably be about the same price.

Boy, will the local sportscast change. No more 5-10 minute segments on the Cowboys. Well, except for maybe KABB who has one big ass boner for the Cowboys.

Oh, I'm not doubting that the crowd is enjoying an "NFL game", b/c many people will never get another chance to see an NFL game. I'm talking about a team everyone is going crazy over, and a couple of months ago I would pretty guess that mostly everyone here wasn't thinking "Saints".

Doing a crappy job supporting the Saints? No! Supporting the Spurs? Sure! The city is concentrating on trying to sell out these 4 home games, and the Spurs with their 3 championships are still having trouble selling out their games. Hmmmmmmm!

We should be commended for supporting them so strongly after only a few weeks!!!!

I think they were. When it was reported that Benson wanted to moe the team here, pre-Katrina.

    3 games

    Um... 99% capacity last season.

Well, I can only speak for myself and people I know and have talked to, but we weren't cheering just because it was an NFL game. We were cheering because we're foster fans for the Saints, for lack of a better word. This is supposed to be their home field, and we did everything possible to give them that advantage. And maybe most weren't thinking Saints (except to be excited about the unlikely but possible move)...why would we have been? They're not a Texas team, most people haven't relocated from that area, there was no reason for a real connection. But you indicated that we were pretending to be fans, that we were auditioning. That wasn't the case.

I think we should wait for the numbers for this season before we can make any accurate statements about how this will affect the Spurs support. We've had exactly one game so far this year. Pre-season. Sold out. Our numbers (and support) have been phenominal lately. Nobody wants to come play at the SBC Center. There is a reason for that. It's us, the fans. And as Writer pointed out, we do have 99% capacity.

So if Tom Benson wants to move his team...he doesn't have that right?

He was looking to move way before Katrina.

I still say though he moves to LA. IMO, the league will give him a lot of incentives to do so.

    No. Stop that...

The league may "pressure" him but he wants to move here not there...

San Antonio is a better deal than LA ... LA is a lot of cosmetic bull ...

SA is ez $$ and stable growth.

We have superior water to all of California.. LA running out of water and high on assholes.

Benson does not want to live / work / stay in LA.

Yup, all levels were going strong for a bit. But it took a while to really get it going. When it stopped the section(s) that started it started booing, I felt so bad for the players, hoping they didn't think we were booing them
