My guess is the China trip was the preamble by Kawhi's group to Kawhi getting him moved to LA. They figured they needed to up his brand in Asia to get a max shoe contract which was being held back by Jordan brand because he was relatively overlooked.
This is all about dollars. Funny thing is, it was about dollars more so for his agency then Kawhi because not only is he going to see less from a shoe contract personally, but because his representation just cost him at least $80M.
