The last couple of times I have ran Disk Cleanup my computer always restarts for no reason. My Compress old files is 5,380,830. It has never been that big. I have been trying to run disk clean up but it never works. It has worked fine in the past. When the computer comes back from restarting it some error... blah blah, It had all those symbols and numbers related to the error, I am going to try to run the cleaner again. If it restarts I will be sure to get those numbers and what not.
EDIT- I just ran the cleaner a few more times. It either freezes up or restarts. I haven't gotten the message that an error has occured like I did before yet, but I will try and jot down the numbers if it occurs. Also why would it freeze up?
I have gotten the file size down to 3 mil now.
Also, I wanted to see how long it took my computer to go on. So once I pushed to button on the tower, It took me 1 minute and 50 seconds for me to reach the desktop. Why does it take so long?

Meh. Anything else?
What is that link for? I don't want to download anything I don't know what it is.
More than likely your HD is dying. I'm not a big fan of compressing files, better to just get a bigger HD.
Slave your main HD to another computer and run scandisk or use some HD utility to check the integrity of your HD.
Take a Journey over to Steve's place. He does good work.
My hard drive isn't even a year old. Its 160 GB and I have 112 GB left.
I am not saying Steve doesn't do a good job, I just don't have the time to take it over there. I just want to get some other views.
psssssst! Steve left a phone number call him.
psssssst! maybe if you read the link you will see the website. Are you sure you should even own a PCI don't want to download anything I don't know what it is.![]()
Go to RUN and type eventvwr
See what you've got for system errors....
Have you unchecked compress old files?
.exe
I unchecked compress old files and it works... But why does it freeze up and restart when I try to compress old files. What does that even mean... lol. I thought you are suppose to run disk clean up like once a week or so.
I did get some system errors typing that in.
I have seen them go bad after one week. Some are even bad fresh from the box.
You may have hit a bad cluster 48 GB deep in the HD . I had a 30 GB HD that would freeze after I went over 15 GBs.Its 160 GB and I have 112 GB left.
Then grow a pair and click on the links he posted in this topic.I am not saying Steve doesn't do a good job, I just don't have the time to take it over there. I just want to get some other views.

No idea why it freezes up when you try to compress old files, that's why I told you to run the event viewer, what version of windows do you have?
I ran event viewer but I don't know what info yall want. I have Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Aunt Ester what scans do you want me to run... I clicked on that think to the virus help. I run CCleaner, Ad-aware, Windows Defender and have Northon Anivirus and System Works.
Well I'm install that program http://www.pctools.com/downloads/rminstall.exe
I am on dial up, so It will be in a little.
And I want nice teeth but don't want to see a dentist. we all can't have it our way 24/7 this isn't Burger King, grow some fuzz on your sac and click the ing links already!
Sorry brah but I am about to lose it over reading your replies.
Scan disk is like someone with Aids taking a shower. The 's inside the HD not on the surface. If Scan disk was the answer ? then McAffre and Norton would be out of Business
In case your missing some Dll's?
Pull out your windows XP disc and reinstall windows .You will see a prompt asking you if you want to keep your old files click yes and that way you know for sure the virus stays with you since your in no hurry to get rid of it.
Run this scan and tell me what you find.

then run this one

Wow make sure at the next GTG I shake your hand. I always wanted to meet someone from the Dial up era. You must wait 2 hours to download stairway to heaven
For someone who doesn't like to click on links you sure have alot of useless spyware. get rid of it all. remove Norton and download this. it found some trojan horses Norton never knew was on my system.

never download an exe file from someone online unless you 100% trust the source.....
I don't know why yall think I have a virus. I was just asking why it would scan disk would freeze up once I would run it.
I had a bunch of view point. The danger wasn't bad at all. I removed it all.
I have
and guess what my virus program detected a virus![]()
