Yah I think his defense and learning the 3 point shot late in career; gives him the edge. I think Nash might be more influential (gimmicky offense) but if I'm creating a team I prefer Kidd

Nash is just a better shooter.

Kidd was better at everything else

Kidd was a proven winner; Nash had a great style. If you wanna sell tickets, pick Nash. If you wanna win, go with Kidd. But neither can do it on their own.

Nash. He turned scrubs into All stars. Lol at the Knicks paying Stat 100 million. Also today is all about pick n roll and 3 point shooting which Nash was simply better at in his peak. People who bring up Kidd and his improved 3 forget that he only learned how to shoot when he no longer could blaze past people so it's a moot point. Also PG defense is highly overrated imo so I dont care much that kidd was better bc it's not like he could stop nash anyways.

Nash is better as the man. He can elevate a team to a le contender because of his ability to create all-time great offenses (Dirk/Nash Mavericks, Dantoni Suns).
While Kidd as the man results in mediocre offense and early playoff exits in West. We all know those Nets teams would've been fish food in the West.

Kidd is better as a supporting cast player similar to Kevin Garnett with Boston.

ehh... kidd was making finals playing in a god awful eastern conference in early 2000's and they got smoked by LAL and SAS... Nash was just as much a winner as Kidd except he had to play the spurs in earlier rounds as the suns were in the significantly tougher west.

kidd only won a ring when he was purely a role player on a very good dallas team. you say neither could do it on their own, but look at how nash carried phoenix when stoudemire missed the full season

Nash is just a D'Antoni system player.
And he couldn't defend for .

Kidd could shine in any team/system

Nash got exposed on a regular basis against Bibby, Chauncey, even Porker. I'm going with Kidd over Nash all day.

Nash easily. Kidd's defense was so overrated. He couldn't stay in front of second year Parker in the Finals and Byron Scott had to force Kerry Kittles on to Parker. Plus Kidd was barely above Rubio level as a shooter until he went to Dallas. Nash though, even in his Dallas days I remember the Spurs switching Avery Johnson on to Dirk repeatedly just to keep Nash out of the lane. Nash is one of the most devastating guards I have seen on the pick and roll and honestly, he'd probably have a ring and a Finals MVP if not for Big Shot Rob putting in work in Game 4.

Boris Diaw excelled as a point center then but I feel as PG you are supposed to elevate your teammates and not do it alone. It is unfair to expect PGs to do it alone.

Even franchise players like Shaq, Jordan, KG and Duncan etc needs some decent teammates and never did it alone

Curry is definitely Nash with way more shots. There was Arenas too without the injuries. Or maybe trigger happy Van Exel

kidd is overrated man, all those triple doubles, how many equate to wins? hence rebound for a pg is not essential but better then none, jack of all trades but master of none...

give me nash, yes he plays no defense, but who cares, he is dangerous with the ball, his a efficient sharp shooter also anywhere on the court u cant leave open, too bad he was passive at scoring...his like stockton and mark price

Nash. All day every day. If he shot even just 25% more per game, he gets into GOAT PG territory. He is the victim of playing in the most dominant conference in all of sports ever and came damn close many times. Better shooter, better passer. JKidds D is over rated as as is his ability to knock the 3 down later in his career.
