That one play and one play alone has not only beaten the spurs but absolutely embarrassed them. Phx must have ran the same EXACT play 10-12 times in a row in 4th.

I just don't think the Spurs are expecting those teams to hit so many of their shots from that play. Like you just can't game plan for guys like Warren or Tyreek shooting lights out from distance. You have to allow something, and under normal/previous cir stances, that something was obviously jumpers from shaky shooters.
There is nothing you can do when LMA and Forbes/Mills are guarding the pick and roll. LMA is too slow to switch on guards and Forbes/Mills are pylons. Sometimes the best defense is going under the screen hoping they chuck a long 3.
The only figuring out Pop is doing nowadays is how exactly he's going to chortle the opposing coach's balls after the 20pt loss tbh.

Pop's reputation as a defensive coach is overrated especially when you consider that his entire career overlaps with one,if not the greatest, defensive anchor of all-time in Duncan. DRob was already a DPOY winner before Pop even started coaching. Then you have two time DPOY winner Kawhi and underrated defenders like Danny Green and Manu(prime). Take away all those talented defenders and the results speak for themselves.

For YEARS we couldn't guard it... This isn't new... The nash suns only couldn't beat us because they suck on defense and were choke artists... The cp3 clippers killed us in a series because pop couldn't guard it... Many other times that I'm too sad to relive... Just keep own it isn't new
It's too early to care right now. Mueller's investigation is happening and people are taking knees at Notre Dame. Pop has bigger things to think about.
That is right. On any high screen the Spurs should go under it, to try to cut off the lane to the basket. Better to allow a jump shot than a layup or dunk. The current personnel cannot stop both.
If your team consists of midgets and non athletic players yeah your defense is going to suck.
