The volunteers, who are part of the No More Deaths ministry of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Tucson, could be sentenced to up to six months in prison and fined up to $500 after they were convicted Friday by Federal Magistrate Bernardo Velasco.
The volunteers were charged with entering a national wildlife refuge without a permit and abandonment of property, according to a statement from the aid group.

It's all fun and games until you break the law.

Chris takes the side of power and principalities against the stranger.
and also against the good Samaritan...
break law you should pay price
So a judge is suppose to make his law
I thought judges were suppose to look at law and uphold it not write law
They already have judges that think they can write own law
Why did they not give food to the people in 3 world countries and fix issue there ?
I am sure some nut will put a go fund me page and those people will make 100k
why are they not sleeping at your house?
Not the first time a verdict like that was overturned in appeals...
it is 100% legal to seek asylum in the US, regardless of the manner of entry.
it is 100% moral to help them survive.
is it not moral to not break law and not spend 6 months in prison be able to take care of their 3 year old kid
Seeking it is fine breaking laws to do so is not

These people have good intentions, IMO, they're just in the wrong State.
Noteworthy, the previous conviction for the same crime was during the previous administration:
Friday’s verdict is the first conviction against humanitarian aid volunteers along the U.S.-Mexico border since 2009, when a federal judge found another No More Deaths volunteer guilty of littering for dropping off water jugs at the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, west of Nogales.
A year before, Dan Millis was found guilty of littering on the Buenos Aires refuge. However, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned his conviction.
Other charges brought against humanitarian aid groups and volunteers mostly had been dismissed.
Congress needs to move the asylum process online and through the various state department embassies and end the practice of declaring at the border.
If the CBP Schutzstaffel find the water containers, they empty them, increasing migrant deaths, just like any good Christian American would.
Look on the bright side, at least ducks isn't the president...oh wait...
