Looks like they fixed the CG from the teasers to make it less weird. Still in the uncanny valley, but it's feels more intentional and less because of incompetence. I could actually see it being a pretty good movie.

the trailers dont look too enticing tbh... but i trust the people behind the film
I was expecting Wall-E to be on the garbage heap in the first scene.
Will probably stream it.
Saw it this weekend. Was better than expected
I liked the movie overall (outside of a few cheesey parts), but that ending![]()
I didn't come in expecting Schindler's List or whatever. It was worth the 8.50 I paid I'll say that. The special effects/CGI was really well done. I could hardly tell the difference between CGI Alita and the human actors in the same frame
still how i feel about it. will likely catch it this weekend
I thought it was really good. People who have seen the anime/read the manga say it was true to the original story. and the CGI was pretty incredible. definitely gonna see it again tbh, solid 8/10
Apparently it's the first in a planned trilogy. The super long review below is from a guy who has read a ton of the manga. I didn't realize how popular it was in Japan but apparently over there, Alita is hot .
The original manga doesn't seem to be very adaptable. The first arc was the traditional hero's journey, perfect for a movie. Then it becomes strange and episodic, with an abrupt ending. I still want to see the movie, but I doubt the material covered will come close to Last Order.
