Hope my Spurs could get back This Timmy again...
Look at those unstoppable post moves...
Missed him so much...![]()

When basketball was basketball.
The game was so fun to watch back then.
It would be interesting to see Duncan coming up today. Would he still have the same impact? How would he adapt his game? Would he be as dominant as he was back then?
this is all amazing, but the stretch of plays from 6:34 on are just so ing smooth, and against some great defenders
Funny how the Spurs were considered boring. If they had been the Celtics or Lakers they would have been heralded for their play, and Duncan would be in the GOAT conversations on a more global scale. Had Tim's 20 year run of excellence been in a Celtic uniform the world would be comparing him to Bill Russell, asking whether he or Jordan should be number 1 all-time.

Well made video. Such a smooth, strong, crafty, center/PF. Butter.
4 down. We still run it but it's not as good.
I feel so lucky to have grown up watching him play. Man, what a player.
Timmy would dominate today easily, maybe even more...
Dude was a thinker,he knew and memorized every players tendencies..
Knew whether they preferred left hand vs right
Which foot they planted or jab stepped..
He put so much effort into strategy vs the lazy AAU IMANATHELETE types
I always enjoyed him showing up the AAU BS players
Poetl just might have that DEFENS in him, that block on Drummond the other night was Timmy-esque
Hopefully PATFO gives him full reign to develop more of that
He won't have 21's offense but if he can bring the D...
Thing about prime Duncan was he abused you if you put a small on him. That's what is missing from people who play in the post today, how to get smaller guys to foul you and get them in foul trouble. Duncan went through people, yet had the ball up so it wasn't an offensive foul and more often than not resulted in a defensive foul. He knew when to pump fake and get you in the air for the foul. Stretch 4s don't work on him simply bc they wouldn't be on the floor long enough to do any real damage.
I would chance that his prime lasted a little longer than 03 - just my opinion of course
I would say it lasted until '07. He had a bunch of injuries after '03 that stopped him from getting more MVP's but when he was healthy he was still playing at an MVP caliber level.
I'd say prime went through 2009. He was top-11 in MVP voting from 1998-2009. Then the dark year(s). Then he was back in the MVP voting. He had 16 seasons where he received an MVP vote. Unreal.
