Should trade Mills and just play Gay at the 4 for about 25 minutes next year.
He looks like hes primed for an elite veteran role but it sucks to see him play the best basketball of his life only for the stars to be disappointingly bad.
Rudy has had bad games in loses in this series ( 3 out of 4 the games they lost) he was bad, but if you look at elite veterans (Diaws etc) they are usually about the same in terms of the bad vs good ratio and thats generally what you get with Elite Veteran role players.
it just sucks for him because if you have followed Rudy gay since his memphis days, you would know how much he's had to adjust his game with San Antonio and hes done a great job. He's an even better defender now as a stretch 4)
He's going to be a year older next year and dude cant even dunk anymore. But if he accepts something around 4-5 million dollar range for two years, they should try to resign him imo if they plan on being compe ive again next year.
