It's kinda hard to complete a pass when your offensive line doesn't give you any time to throw. Not sure if that was the case today, but that was definitely the case in their first 2 games.
what can possibly be done to help these poor bas s?
trade Carr for Vinny Testaverde and hope for Leinart to be good by 2008

The only way it will get better is if they either bring in all new guys for their OL or start telling the OL they do have that their paychecks are directly related to how many sacks they give up.
I also hate watching their conservative offense that uses alot of running plays down the middle. They need to take more chances on offense.
Does the front office have the balls to pick Leinart?
Carr should sit a game or two. Put Tony Banks in. Fire Capers if they go 0-4.
I dont see how tony banks could do worse
they could use kasey studdard, jonathan scott and will allen, justin blaylock
I don't see them firing Capers during the season. Who is out there to replace him? I think this is his last year with the team and than they will bring in another coach to try and make Carr seem like he isn't a bust. I think he could be a good QB if he doesn't get sacked 7 times a ing game. God damn Texans O-Line. They ing blow.
The franchise name is so stupid.. "Texans"....
Make em the friggin OIL'ers... but no. it's too politically incorrect...
Drafting Matt Leinart would be dumb.
All they would do is ruin Leinart the way they did Carr by getting him sacked so often he feels the rush even when it's not there.
Blow up the whole team and start over from scratch like it's 2002, excpet this time don't sign high-paid veterans with career-threatening injuries.
No one thinks the name "Texans" is friggin stupid?
Also designed to keep San Antonio out of NFL..
Commisioners silent programming..
It wouldn't have been my first choice.
However, it's like the sixth football franchise called "Texans."
well according to espn Leinart is the greatest quarterback of all time.
i guess they could take a tackle or a tailback
but they would still suck
its the fifth that I know of.
There was the NFL's Dallas Texans who were the New York Yankees (yes there was a New York Yankees football team) which moved to Dallas in 1952 and then folded in 1953 and were moved to Baltimore and became the Colts.
The AFL's Dallas Texans who moved to KC in 1963 and became the Chiefs.
The original Houston Texans in the World Football League in 1975
and the San Antonio Texans CFL team in 1995.
I dont care what you change the name to they still suck.
I remember when Carr was drafted and he said, "I just want to beat the Cowboys". Well....he did that and nothing else. What a loser!!!!!!
and that wasn't a major accomplishment that season....the Cowboys were 5-11.I remember when Carr was drafted and he said, "I just want to beat the Cowboys". Well....he did that and nothing else. What a loser!!!!!!
Its pathetic the 4th or 5th largest city in America can't get their straight with their football teams. The Oilers were dumped on by all their fans and that drove that team to Nashville. Now this Texans experiment comes to Houston and its like the Saints from the 70's!
In the age of free-agency this should not be happening!
Thank god Houston has the Astros! .... sure the Rockets too.
You can't take chances on offense if your offensive line doesn't block anyone. The more intricate the play, the longer it takes to develop; the deeper the pass, the more time you need. The Texans could call all the 7-step drops they want to, but Carr will get destroyed because those plays take a long time to develop and, obviously, that line has no prayer of holding up for 4, 5, or 6 seconds. It can't hold up on 3 and 5 step drops.
They can't even run play action stuff at this point, mostly because there's no credible threat to make defenses bite on any fakes -- plus, the fake just requires more time, which requires that the O-line hold blocks longer.
They almost have to be conservative to have a chance to win any game -- quick-hitting runs (i.e., middle runs; dives, bellies, traps) and short, controlled passes.
