Because it's a door stopper, an eBay Item, a dust collector, a pretty, brix-brack.
I've been tellin' ya silly SOBs since I lit here:::Make the playoffs. Win the last game you play. There is nothing else.
TELLIN'!!!!!!!!!
People saying he was just a roleplayer in that finals series.
Yeah he only scored 9 points in the first 2 games, but he scored 29, 24, 20 in the last 3 games.
He was also guarding Lebron James the entire series. That's all-star performance right there. Why are the haters disrespecting Kawhi?

Outside of butthurt SpursFan are people saying this?
That Timmy Duncan should have gotten it holds some merit. But Kwa had just as good if not better all around game so...
Because he WAS a role player back then, basically the whole team was role players because the stars were mostly past their prime. Its why you saw the "beautiful game".
I actually rank his FMVP with the spurs over the one with Toronto, due to the fact that he carried TOSB Jim to his 5th. That's a huge accolade on Kiwi's resume imho.
If anything Diaw contributed the same as kawahi. He could have won it too. Duncan so unselfish he gave it to the young buck. But that spurs team was a well oiled machine
I give credit for his Finals MVP. He deserved it. He had an amazing last 3 games of the series and set the tone for the team in games 3&4. However, I take issue when people say he led the Spurs to a le. He didn’t do that bc honestly he was mediocre in every other series.
Cause he wasn't a #1 option. He got his 20 within the motion offense, that was the best Team Basketball ever played in the last 2-3 decades
Tim would have gotten it in 2013 if Spurs had held on.
Aside... nobody felt more pain over 6 than Tracy McGrady
He said it wouldn't have meant anything to him b/c he did nothing to help the team win; but that's probably a half truth. He surely was disappointed.
People don’t discredit him getting the Finals MVP. It’s the illusion that he was in 2011 Dirk mode the entire playoffs. There wasn’t a clear cut 1st option that entire run. Duncan, Manu, Green, Diaw were also just as important. But let people go on with their revisionist history.
Career second round virgin as a starter; made the WCSF Game 7 once in '09 on the IR, and damn near won a ring to show for his career in '13 as a garbage time ballhog. I'd say he was disappointed. He sure had a disappointing career despite all the potential.
Popovich was the Finals MVP. Once he figured out the Heat defense and put them in the blender, it was over.
LMAO, who said he was lights out the entire playoffs? If anything most folks compare it to Iggy's '15 MVP when Kawhi was actually being defended by LeBron instead of being dared to shoot while being ignored by Mozgov.
Folks also try to discredit his defense claiming PEAK LeBron averaged 28 on 57% shooting when he was Harrison Barnes status w/ Kawhi as his primary defender & stat padded in garbage time in the final 3 games. LeBron also had just as many turnovers as assists in the series b/c he being guarded 1-on-1.
But...but...but....Iggy did a better job. '15 LeBron was very inefficient against the Bulls WITH a healthy Kyrie & performed better against the Duds while actually playing 1-on-5. He destroyed Iggy for the following 3 finals matchups.
Kawhi in the '14 Finals was just as good as KG in the '08 Finals, '15 Iggy is a false equivalence.
Yeah the solution was asking Kawhi to be aggressive on offense & he delivered:
because the real MVP of that series was obviously Wade
manu was more deserving imo as well
Because when you don't defend your le, people view it as less legitimate. One and done, lightning in a bottle type deal.
& in cruel fashion you were defending your 5th NBA le. Bitterly you had to win it a 2nd time.
& lettin' Ray Allen get in there in your kitchen & eat your lunch like that. The cold-hearted SOB did ya dirt & you know what kind of dirt, the worst kind:::damnable dirt.
& you'd done an admirable job of scaring the bejeesus outta James there, nullifying his frightened ass. A scrum ensues & just like that I'm straightened out.
ha, ha.
Yes sir. Lucked out and dipped.
coming back and winning the next year was damn impressive, cub
Tim: 5
Kobe: 5
Tim: 3
Kobe: 2
If Kawhi wins another one with the Clippers this year or the next, it’ll be interesting how it’s viewed by the fans. He has a strange career so far.
i remember the interview before the 2014 finals. Duncan was en mad lmao I’ve never really seen him like that with the media and from there you knew Miami was done
But, '13 & '14 are two distinctly different events. Total waste & loss in '13. '14 is a ring. Each one has no effect on the other's place in history. They're completely unattached. '14 doesn't lessen the loss of '13. & '13 can't, or, (should not) be used as a means to an end/'14.
