The next month is going to be very interesting.
It's November, which means there's only one month left to prepare for the Heisman Trophy festivities in New York City. Here's another look at who should be preparing for the second Saturday in December.
ORDER THE TUXEDO
1. Vince Young (Jr., QB, Texas)
Last week: 15-of-30 (50%), 239 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT; 267 rush yds, 2 TD in 47-28 win at Oklahoma St.
Season totals: 163.7 rating (7th in nation), 120-of-190 (63%), 1835 yds, 16 TD, 8 INT; 725 rush yds (2nd in Big 12), 8 TD
Next: at Baylor, 12:30 p.m. ET
For the first time I've moved Young to the top of the list. Oklahoma State is not the toughest opponent, but being the first player ever to both rush and pass for at least 235 yards in one game counts for something. His 80-yard touchdown jaunt was a signature highlight.
But the biggest thing is that everybody knows there is only one man responsible for having the Longhorns where they are, and it's Young. You can't say that about Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush at USC.
2. Reggie Bush (Jr., RB/KR/PR, USC)
Last week: 156 all-purpose yds in 55-13 win vs. Washington State
Season totals: 197 all-purpose yds/game (leads nation), 13 TD
Next: vs. Stanford, 10 p.m. ET
Washington State held Bush to less than 100 yards on the ground, but his overall numbers still are hard to beat.
3. Matt Leinart (Sr., QB, USC)
Last week: 24-of-34 (71%), 364 yds, 3 TD, 1 INT in 55-13 win vs. Washington State
Season totals: 167 rating (3rd in nation), 169-of-258 (66%), 2512 yds (9.74 yds/att leads nation), 19 TD, 6 INT
Next: vs. Stanford, 10 p.m. ET
Leinart had an outstanding day against the Cougars, and as the Trojans continue to win his stock can only go up.

1. Brady Quinn (Sr., QB, Notre Dame)
Last week: Did not play
Season totals: 162 rating (8th in nation), 175-of-266 (66%), 2352 yds (3rd in nation in yds/gm), 20 TD (T-5th in nation), 4 INT
Next: vs. Tennessee, 2:30 p.m. ET
Some people think Quinn is the best NFL quarterback in next year's draft.
2. Laurence Maroney (Jr., RB, Minnesota)
Last week: 25 rushes, 127 yds, 1 TD in 45-31 loss vs. Ohio State
Season totals: 233 rushes, 1260 yds (3rd in nation), 9 TD
Next: at Indiana, noon ET
Maroney has had some big games, but Wisconsin's Brian Calhoun is starting to steal his Big Ten thunder.
3. DeAngelo Williams (Sr., RB, Memphis)
Last week: 21 rushes, 167 yds, in 37-20 loss to UAB
Season totals: 216 rushes, 1476 yds (leads nation), 12 TD
Next: at Tennessee, Nov. 12
Williams continues to lead the nation in rushing by more than 20 yards per game so he has to be on the list.
4. Marcus Vick (Jr., QB, Virginia Tech)
Last week: 22-of-28 (79%), 280 yds, 1 TD; 52 rush yds in 30-10 win vs. Boston College
Season totals: 167 rating (2nd in nation), 109-of-158 (69%), 1534 yds, 11 TD, 5 INT
Next: vs. Miami (Fla.), 7:45 p.m. ET
If Vick gets a win over Miami this weekend, watch his stock soar.
5. Drew Olson (Sr., QB, UCLA)
Last week: 24-of-35 (69%), 293 yds, 2 TD in 30-27 (OT) win at Stanford
Season totals: 165 rating (5th in nation), 173-of-257 (67%), 2167 yds, 23 TD (2nd in nation), 3 INT
Next: at Arizona, 6 p.m. ET
You can't overlook four double-digit fourth-quarter comebacks in a month, especially after Olson's most improbable one yet.
6. Brian Calhoun (Jr., RB, Wisconsin)
Last week: 35 rushes, 197 yds, 5 TD; 2 rec, 37 yds in 41-24 win at Illinois
Season totals: 254 rushes, 1218 yds, 36 rec, 439 yds, 21 total TD (leads nation)
Next: at Penn State, 3:30 p.m. ET
Calhoun leads the nation in both total touchdowns and scores on the ground. A big game at Penn State would help.
COULDN'T FIND A DATE
These guys probably can't make it to New York no matter what they do the rest of the season, but it might be worth keeping an eye on any spectacular performances they may have.
Cody Hodges (Sr., QB, Texas Tech)

Season totals: 155 rating, 256-of-376 (68%), 3094 yds (leads nation), 25 TD (leads nation), 8 INT

Brodie Croyle (Sr., QB, Alabama)
Last week: 22-of-31 (71%), 279 yds, 3 TD in 35-3 win vs. Utah State
Season totals: 147 rating, 137-of-221 (62%), 1814 yds, 12 TD, 2 INT
Next: at Mississippi State, 3:30 p.m. ET
Maurice Drew (Jr., RB, UCLA)
Last week: 175 all-purpose yds, 2 TD in 30-27 (OT) win at Stanford

even though i think leinart will take some votes from reggie, i don't think that will make the difference. it's definitely between vince and reggie.both are deserving. but it all comes down to how they perform. and more importantly, how they perform in the big games on national tv. i know 3 of sc games are nationally televised: sat. 7:00 vs. stanford on tbs, the 19th 7:15 vs. fresno state on fsn, and dec. 3 1:30 vs. ucla on abc. the other, the 12th at cal, is abc regional. if the voters haven't sent in their ballots before dec. 3rd, i think that could be a huge day for reggie (ucla was one of his biggest games last year).
I think Quinn's a junior. I'm not sure how much stock I put into a Heisman prediction when the author can't get basic facts straight. And I feel that the frontrunner right now is probably Bush, whether he deserves it or not.
