DJ has kind of been an iron man for us this year. Played in all 38 games, left the first Dallas game early with the ankle sprain but didn’t miss any time in the aftermath despite it obviously bothering him.

I expected it to be Demar getting eased back in to the line up- but DJ with the stretch we have coming up has earned the out of this day off and long term regardless of what happens tonight it’s the right call.

I agree with your take on Derrick. I'm anxious to see how he responds to what I see as an opportunity. I feel the same way about Luka, Lonnie, and Tre tonight. I don't see resting DJ and Patty as waving any white flag either (although there's probably a pun there with Derrick somewhere). Patty sitting out just means pop can't close with him... DJ sitting out means Lonnie and Vassell get more of an opportunity too. I'm expecting a compe ive game for the first half and if we can reverse the 3rd quarter meltdown trend we could have a hard fought game for 4 quarters.

It’s crazy that he has played 31 games and only had one game with over 10 FGA. He was the 11th pick. The guy needs more touches especially since he is debatably the best 3 point shooter we have.
