even i think this is a little much... but i guess they were going for variety on their picks.

This isn't about the Heisman Trophy. Whether or not Reggie Bush wins the famed bronzed statuette is as insignificant as a linebacker trying to cover Bush in the open field. No, for a moment let's take a step back and simply savor the marvelous vision of Bush running circles around opposing teams, without tarnishing it with talk about a trophy whose past recipients include Gino Torretta, Andre Ware and Eric Crouch.
Look at the faces of the helpless defenders who try to tackle Bush, and watch them fall over themselves like villains trying to take on Bruce Lee in a Kung Fu movie. Look at the people in the crowd hold their breaths with anticipation every time Bush touches the ball. Look at his teammates as they whoop and holler and hit each other like fans at a slam dunk contest every time he reverses field and makes players miss.
Ask any player on the USC football team who their most valuable player is and they will all -- even Matt Leinart, the team's Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback -- say Bush. Despite being unbeatable for the past two years, the Trojans know that they would probably have a handful of losses if it hadn't been for the man they call The President. Says USC coach Pete Carroll, "I told him you're the most valuable guy on the field for what you're creating by your presence."
To every father who has sat down with his child and tried to describe the greatness of Gale Sayers or the elusiveness of Barry Sanders, breathe easy. The next generation has arrived. In Bush, who averages more than 200 all-purpose yards per game and scores a touchdown nearly every 10 times he touches the ball, college football fans are treated to the most exciting player in the sport every Saturday.
Bush is my Sportsman of the Year not because I think the best college football player will actually win the award. He's my choice because he's everything you could ask for in a true sportsman: from his chiseled physique, to his modest personality, to his uncanny ability to make the impossible somehow possible whenever he takes the field.
even i think this is a little much... but i guess they were going for variety on their picks.
He wasn't so good last week.
17 rushes for 82 yards and a 4.8 avg.
Cedric Bensen was basically no longer a contendor for the Heisman for having 1 game like that last year.
Cedric Bensen sucks.
Really ? He only rushed for one game less than 100 yards last year other than the Rose Bowl, which was before the Heisman was picked. That being 99 against OU. And did so with an inferiour front line that Bush ran behind at USC.
To bad Texas has the O-line this year. Bush would break Danes record behind Texas O-line.
58 rushes for 237 yards and a 4.1 yards per carry average. Plus one fumble lost. He sucks.
It's actually Benson, but I'm sure it was a typo...for both of you.
Bush is good, but his hype makes him out to be a superhero. Carry the load, and I'll be impressed.
that's one of the reasons why i would like to see him stay next year.
it's tough to say who will stay and go, but i actually think there is a better chance that bush will stay than lendale. who knows. but i think that bush could carry a load because booty/jarrett will definitely need some help. good thing the majority of our o-line will be back.
after that one slap in the back of a fresno st. player's head, i dont know about the sportsman award anymore.
Don't know about the Sportsman of the Year...but I think he clinched the Heisman saturday night.
0 rushes for 0 yards for Bush. Wtf does the NFL have to do with College moron.58 rushes for 237 yards and a 4.1 yards per carry average. Plus one fumble lost. He sucks
Benson isn't in college anymore idiot.
Bush, he isn't doing anything as a RB in college football that hasn't been done before. Vince Young is poised to do something as a QB that NO QB HAS EVER DONE IN THE HISTORY OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL, that's passing for 3,000 yds. and running for 1,000 yds. in a season. He'll mostly likely accomplish that feat before the season ends. I also think that if you took Bush out of USC's lineup, USC would still win just about every game the play in the watered down PAC 10. If you took VY out of UT's lineup, no way they would be in the position they're in right now, cotending for a national championship. I just hope it's USC and UT at the end so we can take down the defending champs, just like the Spurs did with the Pistions. Hook'em!
UT would finish in the middle of the pack if they played in the Pac-10. The Big-12 is a joke.
if by middle of the pack you mean 1 or two
tech was 3rd in the BIG 12 SOUTH last year
Are you serious? With our current team we would be winning the Pac 10 going away, leaving the rest of the teams in the ing dust.
The Pac-10 is the best football conference in the country BY FAR.
BY FAR?
A tie for third with the ACC, and behind the SEC and the Big Ten, sounds a lot more reasonable to me.
They must have some good drugs out where you're at, can I get some?
