No worries for you Boots, I'm sure you haven't used a hygiene product in decades.
Phthalates are used to make plastics more flexible and can be found in hundreds of products.
- A new study led by NYU researchers estimates phthalates may be associated with somewhere between 91,000 and 107,000 premature deaths in the U.S. among adults ages 55 to 64.
- The study found those with higher levels of phthalates were more likely to die prematurely from any cause, especially from heart problems.
- Researchers noted more research into the matter needs to be done and said the study does not establish a direct cause-and-effect association between phthalates and premature deaths
