don't know him
He was 1st team all NBA G League in 2019-2020. Led the entire NCAA in rebounds in 2017-2018 averaging 13.5 at 6'8
Eh, not a fan of this signing. Cacok is a 6-foot-8 hustle big who can't shoot and doesn't block shots. He works hard and he's strong but undersized hustle bigs who will never be able to shoot aren't worth developing on a two-way contract. Especially one who is already 25.
He's essentially the team's, what, sixth center?![]()
I guess the only positive is it paves the way for Primo to be the unquestioned go-to player in Austin. Primo with Wieskamp as a shooter and Cacok as a hustle big who will stay out of the way ... eh, I guess it makes some sense looking at it from that angle.

One of the most depressing highlight vids I've seen. It's eight minutes long. They don't need to include clips of him turning it over, rebounding an FT and getting blocked at the rim.
Anyways, I wanted them to sign a guard to provide depth since Jones has been ailing. But this implies that the Spurs forsaw PF as a position they wanted to use their two-way spot on. They seemed to want to bring KBD back for that spot if not Jeffries. I thought they released Sam with the idea that they might bring him back. It's a strange emphasis to put on the team given the roster makeup. But if he's BPA, then you take him and sort it out later.
As has been said, makes no sense on paper (one and four were/are the positional needs). It's a long shot, but maybe they view him as a a possible deep bench Eubanks replacement next season.
If things go according to plan, Collins will be the primary backup five by then and none of the three fives (presuming Landale sticks) are exactly bangers. Not saying they need one, but they might think so.
So Spurs have Joe and this guy at 2way. Looks like a hustle guy.
So when would we know the final roster?
Fuuuuuuck. You don't think Primo makes the team?
He had a good Summer League where he shot 33% from 3, albeit on lower volume. His Summer League highlights are interesting. From his Wikipedia, it sounds like he was a late bloomer which the Spurs seem to like.
He should be right at home with the rest of the scrubs.
Not what I was expecting for our final 2 way spot, but he’ll provide energy and some toughness it looks like
you think he'll be in spurs' starting lineup?
Not too many highlight reels include the “star” turning it over and being called for fouls. Not real impressive.
Rebounder that brings energy? Could do worst.....
That’s NBA CHAMPION Devontae Cacok to you peasants
That Bubble championship and 50 cents might get you a cup of coffee somewhere.
Virtually nothing about the preseason points to Primo playing much with the Spurs this season. He barely got on the court and that was without Tre Jones being there to eat the backup PG minutes. The Spurs really do need to give big minutes to DJM, White, Jones, Vassel, and Walker this season so there was never going to be a lot for Primo this year. Now, if he starts off amazing in Austin maybe they'll bring him up, but I have to imagine he's behind Almost everyone in the depth chart right now.
