He's the best player I've seen since Jordan. He has every tool and looks like he has the clutch gene. Those are insane qualities to have at 20.
Whether he becomes the GOAT depends on:
1) his health
2) what type of team the spurs can build around him
3) what the salary cap looks like and how the spurs manage it
Jordan isn’t best ever because of his talents, there have been others just as good, just that the factors didn’t fall their ways. What happens if Krause yielded to Jordan’s demands? What happens if Jordan didn’t blossom at the time when the nba was exploding to a world wide game (magic and bird before him, dream team, Nike)? What if jordan played in the days when rules don’t cater to isolation plays? What if the bulls didn’t trade for Pippen?what if the bulls kept Oakley like Jordan wanted?
Any of that happened and Jordan won’t be the goat.
There is so much wrong with this horse . Nobody was "just as good" as Jordan. There was a very small window where Barkley was nearly his equal. Pippen was an absolute dumpster fire without Jordan. When rules don't cater to isolation plays? They hard fouled him a dozen times a game in the playoffs. .
4 les he is not even the greatest Spur. The conversation is greatest of all time. The reason MJ>Lebron still the rings. If Lebron had 7 championships then you can have the conversation of greatest of all time.
I mean, he definitely has the potential to. When you have every basketball skill and otherworldly size, and the mental aspects of the game under control, then the ceiling is infinitely high. I guess the only other factor would be something like "clutch factor" or "killer instinct," but that usually comes with the mental aspects IMO.
But also he needs to compile impressive career accolades, which depends on cir stances. Like somebody above mentioned, he needs to avoid serious injuries, and he needs to have good teams crafted around him for that to be possible.
Just a quick thought: Nike happened because of Jordan, not the other way around. They were a struggling company drowning in red ink when he signed.
Lebron at his prime was as good as Jordan in his prime. Bird, magic, shaq couldn’t been a goat if things fell right.
If there was a time Barkley, who most people have him around top 20 all time, could be as good as a goat, even for a short period of time, it highlights how the goat really wasn’t as definitive based on skills as people make it out to be.

Fair point. I’m more about how well nike marketed him. Nike found gold with him, they can’t turn, say Charles shackleford into a star with all the marketing in the world, but with Jordan they were able to appeal him to the masses.
