I think his coaching style would probably wear thin on players.
What about Avery Johnson as the Spurs Coach after Pop retires. He's grounded in the Spurs culture, a proven coach who took Dallas to the Finals in 2005-06, and he's a strong leader of men. Sounds like a "the man" to me. whatta you think?

He’s a martinet. He lost his team in Dallas, and that was like 16 years ago.
I’m crossing my fingers for Manu
no one is going to listen to a clown with a roach voice
Avery gets on people's nerves as a coach. , he got on the team's nerves as a player. I get a strong sense that people like him as a person, but in competetive environments he's unbearable. There's a reason he hasn't coached again.
Kidd might be available, i liked him in last years play off. Don't know what happened this season.
Avery, Kidd, truly scraping the barrel in this thread. Waiting for a Doc suggestion next.
still have not forgive him for the 2006 playoffs semi finals
Nah, should be someone from Pops recent couch tree or adjacent to it like Kenny Atkinson. I would have loved Snider or Hardy but seems those ships have sailed for now.
Not sure if he's ready or has it, but for the sake of it would love to see Manu as a coach. No doubt they would get along well with Wemby and their mutual compe ive fire. Manu may even also convince a few FAs to come.
How about Terry Stotts?
You mean Nurse.
Kidd is a world class underbusser. He threw every coach he had as a player, and the head coach of his first assistant job under the buss. He’s just a ing snake.
Of everybody mentioned, Nurse is actually a good coach.
Unethical, arrogant s bag.
