They just Matt Bonner down on the ball in case they have a chance to chase a dribbler down. No sense in being within ten feet of a shooter. Proximity has no bearing on shooting percentage.

I don't think they are coached to guard the 3 point line at all. I don't understand what the malfunction is tbh. Teams just consistently kill us with the 3. It is getting stupid now.

I wish it were. They have left three point shooters for the last several years. I was certain it was stealth tanking three seasons ago, but it is clearly a defensive philosophy that it is beneath the corporate dignity to defend a three point shooter. That's not who we are.

Its 100% an outdated philosophy and one reason why we need a clean break from Pop's protege. Having Wemby should mean we guard the 3 better, not worse.

Exactly, you would think they would press at the 3 point line and try to funnel everyone to Wemby.

Glitch “ Rivers” Johnson isn’t a head coach. Just another one of Pop’s yes men who can’t think on his feet. I doubt the other two assistants would be any better. I thought he was going to be good for the first month or so.

    Every single game:

"We love Sochan and Castle as defenders, we just let them get to work! Uh oh! They're on a ball handler, in this case [ insert any player, like Harden] ... Better have someone else leave a 3 point shooter one pass away with a soft ass non-double where they don't pressure the ball handler but aren't far enough to trigger a rotation! What, { Vassell } in his soft double just led to [ Harden ] passing to ( Batum ) and he drained the three! WTF! ... Let's just do it again. Oh no, another easy three from the fake soft double! How does this keep happening?"

    ---

Seriously, what good are these alleged defenders when they're always shaded to and compensated for leading to non stop scoring and threes?

I don't think they are coached.
You should have just ended there.
