Why? Team chemistry isn't made by eating in a cafeteria.
The USA team should have been eating here:

Why? Team chemistry isn't made by eating in a cafeteria.
i'd much rather eat in the olympic village than on a ing boat.
it aint made on a luxury liner neither.
So, we've established that this thread is pointless...
hmmm luxiorious dining orrr sitting next to euzbekastan's lesbian butch weight lifter eating cheese sandwiches and THG injected apples.
Ill take Queen Mary. Can you blame them??
The boat aint what lost it.
Ginobili's place looks better than the other place.
But they were the only ones in Queen Mary II, the rest of the American team were in the Olympic Village. Even Michael Phelps, a guy who won more gold medals than most of the countries, was at the Village. World records holders, gold medalists or amateur sportsmen were all in there.
Why did the Basketball team deserved a different treatment?
The basketball players were treated differently because they were rich, high profile symbols of America and the USA considered that they would have been the prime targets of terrorists.
And the mens basketball players were not the only US athletes on the boat BTW. The female basketball players and soccer players were also on the boat...among others.
As you can see...the boat really ed up the chemistry of the womens basketball and soccer teams.
For the same reason that some of Manu's own countrymen tried to take members of his family hostage. Why did the Basketball team deserved a different treatment?
It's not the same reason, those kiddnapping issues were serious, and realistic. The U.S. and security issues, well it's been proven trough the games. And also proved that you can't thrust anybody, If I were Greek, I would be upset about it, what makes you think they're safer in the Queen Mary II than in the Olympic Village with Greek security?
I would of preferred to stay in teh Olympic village.
But then again, I love learning about others' cultures and other various things.
What is TD gonna do? Eat a sandwich with 4 forks and 3 knives.
Well the U.S. had reason to believe they may not be safe in the Olympic Village. And just because nothing (terrorist-related) happened doesn't mean it wouldn't have happened if they were there. If I were Greek, I would be upset about it, what makes you think they're safer in the Queen Mary II than in the Olympic Village with Greek security?
I don't see anything wrong with the U.S. doing everything they could to protect them by having the players on the Queen Mary II and having their own security. If I were the players or part of their family, I would be happy that the U.S. was doing what they could to protect them.
Just because you show the Argentinean team eating in a lunch room, doesn't mean that the U.S. players didn't have somewhere to relax and kick back and eat together on the Queen Mary II.
"Why? Team chemistry isn't made by eating in a cafeteria"
Olympic spirit is.
but it is a major reason why fans were constantly booing the americans.
whatever thats worth.
This is not just about Queen Mary vs. Olympic Village. It's about role models for kids. If the kids playing basketball right now watch the American Basketball team away from the rest of the athletes then it would be no surprise than in the 2012 olympics the Carmelo Anthony at ude would be all over again.
ShineOnYou,
Everyone thought there was going to be a terrorist attack, more than likely on the Americans, even the Greeks.
Drop the stupid role model bull , that's not an issue. In case you didn't notice AI was talking all about representing your country, that's the at ude that's going to prevail, not CA's pissiness over Larry Brown CB'in his PT.
I'd rather have my life in the hands of US Special Forces guarding the boat than in Greek security (who couldn't keep a guy with a tutu off a dive platform, not to mention the marathoner getting tackled yesterday).what makes you think they're safer in the Queen Mary II than in the Olympic Village with Greek security?
You're way off base in your criticism. The majority of the world felt there would be an attack in Athens, it's part of the reason the Greek people stayed home from the events.
Quit being so whiny about this, it's a non-issue.
BTW, Olympic Village as a role model for kids? You must have missed the fact that they had to refill the condom machines in the Village in Australia every three hours or something crazy like that. One of a role model environment if you ask me.
which of course explains the booing of Americans at the track and field events, swimming etc. even though those athletes did stay at the Olympic Village.but it is a major reason why fans were constantly booing the americans.
We have very different visions of the world, but I'm not going to argue because this is a Basketball forum.
The booing in the track event was not destined to the Americans it was to the OIC, because they denied some Greek athlete the participation for not showing up to a drugs test.
The argentinian team was booed the whole game against Greece, that's what home court advantage is supposed to be.
Yeah, terrorist possibly couldn't bomb the ship.... :wink
They stayed there because they could. Which is understandable. But when you want to form some kind of real Olmpic chemisty, living on boat that is two times the size the antic isn't the way to do it.
Hey, where's Amare?
He's on the other side of the boat watching a movie.
Where's Melo?
He's somewhere shopping.
Oh ok.
Go build a highway Buddy Holly.
If the Navy Seals say that Team USA is safer and easier to protect on a cruise liner, I'm not gonna argue with them.
No doubt we have different versions...We have very different visions of the world, but I'm not going to argue because this is a Basketball forum.
In your version...
No airplanes flew into the world trade center.
11 Israeli athletes weren't murdered by the PLO at the 1972 Olympics.
Americans aren't being held hostage and murdered by Islamic fundamentalists.
People aren't being caught repeatedly trying to commit terrorist acts in the USA.
No one has sworn to bring death and destruction on the USA and it's citizens.
And Manu's family was just a random target for kidnappers and his fame and wealth had nothing to do with it.
I think your version is what is known as fantasy land.
I don't know what the coverage was like where you were watching but none of the other men were booed when their names were announced at that track event...only the Americans. The booing in the track event was not destined to the Americans it was to the OIC, because they denied some Greek athlete the participation for not showing up to a drugs test.
The argentinian team was booed the whole game against Greece, that's what home court advantage is supposed to be.
Actually it would have been a lot harder to do to that ship...besides who says the only tool of terrorists is bombing?Yeah, terrorist possibly couldn't bomb the ship....
They didn't bomb 11 Israeli athletes at the 1972 Olympics. They mudered them.
They aren't bombing the hostages they are taking in Iraq, they are beheading them.
Then how do you explain the performace of the womens Soccer and Basketball teams...neither of which lost a game. They stayed there because they could. Which is understandable. But when you want to form some kind of real Olmpic chemisty, living on boat that is two times the size the antic isn't the way to do it.
Waiting for your explanation...
And besides...who cares where they stayed...it's just an excuse to bash them...it wasn't like they rented the ship, I imagine the US Government had a lot to do with it.
