Rose-Penny talks return
The Jalen Rose-Penny Hardaway trade rumours have returned.

With the New York Knicks having scouted two of the Raptors' games this past week, there is scuttlebutt that the teams are working on a deal featuring the high-priced veterans, who have struggled this season. Several New York newspapers reported on the discussions Wednesday.

While the deal has been discussed for more than a year, the Raptors would have to throw in more than Rose to make the deal for an expiring contract. Rose's contract does not expire until after next season. The Knicks probably would have interest in one of the Raptors' two first-round picks next season or cash to help pay Rose's salary for next season.

But keep in mind, a Rose-Hardaway trade was on the rumour mill last season and never came to fruition.

There also is speculation that Knicks boss Isiah Thomas is interested in Raptors guard Mike James.


VERSATILE ROCKET
Matt Bonner is more than just a shooter.

The Red Rocket, who is starting to return to his form from last season after a slow start, has picked up five rebounds in each of the past two games, several of which were of the clutch variety.

"I try to do everything I can to help the team win and that includes rebounding just as much as it includes shooting from the perimeter," Bonner said.

Bonner was on the floor for the stretch run of the Raptors' 92-90 win over the Orlando Magic Monday and grabbed a couple of key rebounds and played good defence against the big men.

"I guard Aaron Williams and Rafael (Araujo) and Chris Bosh every day in practice," Bonner said. "I get experience it with it there."

It was incorrectly reported that Raptors rookie Joey Graham and his twin brother, Stephen of the Houston Rockets, were the third set of twins to play against each other in the NBA. In fact, there has been at least one more twin showdown -- Harvey Grant against Horace Grant.
