#3 is a bit hokie but, rock on.
Obviously, most on this board are somewhat biased when it comes to this yrs NC. Being that I am a fan of niether team, I just wanted to give my thoughts on the game.
#1. Bush, Leinart, and the USC Offense definately lived up to the hype. They could be the best Offense in College Football History.
#2. Bush should be the number one pick in the NFL draft.
#3. I was not very impressed with either teams Defenses and VERY impressed with both teams Offenses.
#4. Vince Young is freakin AMAZING! No doubt about it, dude is NFL ready RIGHT NOW (as a Niner fan, I find it ironic that he has the last name Young and is a running QB). They just could not stop him! He is THE MAN!!
#5. These are two of the best teams I have seen in a long time. I HATE cliches(sp?) but I have to use one right here, if these guys played 10 times, it would be 5-5.
#6. WHAT A GAME!!! Hats off to both teams. I have nothing but respect for both these clubs. They gave us an amazing and entertaining game. I cant imagine what it would have been like being a fan of one of these teams and watching this game. I can only hope Wisconsin can someday soon get the kind of players P. Carroll(sp?) and M. Brown get (oh you KNOW I wasnt gonna make a post without having a Badger comment in there! But in all seriousness, props to both these teams). Wow, WHAT A GAME.
Aight, thats all. Congrats to Vince Young and the Longhorns, and thanks to both teams for a great game. (Oh and did I mention that Vince Young is THE MAN?)

I seriosly wasnt impressed with the Defense. Granted I knew USC had a average D. But Texas was posed to have a great D. That all american #7, whatever his name is, didnt play like one.
One of the greatest clutch performances (by Young) I have ever seen in any sport!
Classic!
I dont know if I agree with Bush living up to the hype. At least not in this game. I know he is a great athelete and he will succeed in the NFL, but seriously he was not at his best in this game. That pitch/fumble by Reggie was a huge mistake and I think Lendale White did a much better job as far as backs go. USC offense in general did live up to the hype.
Vince Young's performance will go down as the single greatest Individual perfromance in any sport at any level.
Put a Leinart caliber QB on the Horns, and USC wins by 2 touchdowns.
Texas' defense stepped up when needed. Griffin had that huge INT that brought the ball out to the 20 then they got that fumble recovery when Reggie Bush was dumb and threw it back to some guy. Then they stopped USC on 4th n 1 in 1st quarter and stopped USC on 4th n 2 to give the ball back to Vince so he could win it.
Agreed. That was the play that decided the tenor of the rest of the game.
If he doesn't make that pitch, USC is probably up 14-3 and Texas is definitely pressing.
Yeah, but the touchdown he scored was classic Reggie Bush.
Well, in terms of defense, at least we held USC to 38 points, they were averaging over 50 points a game, or close to it. In the end, the UT defense made the play they HAD to make, stopping L. White on the 4th and 2 play late in the game. The UT defense had to have that play to get V. Young and the offense back on the field.
I came away very impressed with USC's offense, particularly their O-line. Those guys opened up running lanes all night, particularly up the middle for L. White. They also gave Leinart plenty of time to throw the ball, even when we were blitzing. At the end of the day I just have to say that V. Young is the most amazing player at the college level I have ever seen. I've been going to UT football games for almost 25 years now, and I've seen some great players come through, but V. Young is a step above all of them. And I'm talking about guys like E. Metcaf, M. Applewhite, C. Benson, R. Williams, D. Johnson, E. Campbell, R. Williams, etc. He's the best I've ever seen and thank God I've had season tickets to see him play since he's been at Texas. Can't wait for next season to start, back to back would be SWEET!

That still has to go to Jordans flu game
agreed, he basically collapsed after the game from exhaustion and dehydration.
Only play Reggie Bush did the whole gameOWNED
reggie sure is good
in fact since they lost
that makes him even BETTER
get off his jock already. Own up to your smack talk.
Last night's game was great.
But for those alive back in 69' the Texas v Arkansas game was great. I remember watchin that one.(yes i am older than my profile indicates) i don't expect too many people remember that game since this board has a lot of young people on here.
I wasn't even close to being born in 1969 lol Why did you put your profile at 1977 when you weren't born in 77?
Why I say the statement is 'hokie' is because " you're not impressed with the defenses but you're VERY impressed with the offenses'.
Think about it.
