A six day rest between last night's game and their next on the 8th. That, coupled with the six day rest the team will get during the All-Star break should allow this team to mend somewhat. Of course, they will have 5 road games from the 8th through 15th.

I think the team will mend, but do you think such a long break is really good? I would think staying in rythm is better. I just hope they are not too lax after the break.

Hmmm...well they'll have 30 games to get in a groove before the postseason.

    It's more like a Fireman's schedule than a "bone", wouldn't you say?

Point is though they will not be in a "groove" after this break. We are on a winning streak right now.

After these schedule breaks, the Spurs seem to take more time to recover from the break than the length of the break itself.

If you painted The Coyote white and gave him black spots, perhaps.

    For Peter the Clever

Fireman: schedule of "twos", i.e. 48 straight hours on and 48 straight off is a schedule of extremes...

as the Spurs' schedule seems to be.

Spurs: Lots of home games..Lots of away games.
    3 games in 4 nights...6 off....5 games in 8 nights....6 off

NBA schedules stink period, I wrote an article for Hoopsworld on this awhile back.

There is so much disparity and wierd scheduling, i.e., back to back same team series, great differences in # back to backs,. great teams like SA and Detroit finishing series by Jan., playing the Mavs in two games in the first quarter of the year, and both on the road etc.

The worst all year was the Spurs I believe going cross country to Toronto, coming home, and going to play Detroit on X Mas I recall.

Other teams have similar issues but these schedules for many teams are bogus period. So many fans wrote and complained about bizzare schedules, the Bucks have one of the worst by far and the Hornets also have a grueling year.

How wierd would it be also to be a Laker and play in the same arena on the home and later in the year vs. the Clipps as an away team (of course that is almost like 2 extra home games as well)?

Well, I guess this gives Horry and NVE some time to recupperate. But, I was enjoying seeing Oberto, Marks and Beno get some minutes.

Oh yea, Oberto now needs some time to recupperate too...pffft.

Do you guys find it odd that at 37-10, we're talking about healing and mending and getting it together?

What does that say about 29 other teams in the NBA? It's so stressful being a Spurs fan.
