I'm getting killed in my FB league right now.

I'm tied for the worst record in the league and am ranked #12 out of #12 but what's even weirder is I'm in sixth in overall breakdown. I think I have a decent roster, I just can't get it all together in the same week (losing Manu a few weeks back right after rosters were due hurt that week).

I wonder if I just need to not really screw with my roster because of that and hope it all comes together over these last 10 weeks of the regular season to secure a playoff spot.

    We keep 13 on our roster and start 10 weekly. Roster requirements are 1-2 C, 3-5 F, 3-5 G.

Our matchups are based on nine categories for 17 points.

    3PT FG - 2 points
    Assists - 2 points
    Steals - 2 points
    Points - 2 points
    Blocks - 2 points
    Field Goal % - 2 points
    Free Throw % - 2 points
    Total Rebounds - 2 points
Fewest Techs - 1 point (AKA: The Jerk Tax)

Without further adieu, here's my roster...

    C - Brad Miller
    C/F - Tim Duncan
    C/F - Nenad Krstic
    F - Ricky Davis
    F - Juwan Howard
    F - James Jones
    F - Desmond Mason
    G - Chris Paul
    G - Steve Nash
    G - Rip Hamilton
    G - Ben Gordon
    G - Manu Ginobili
    G - Deron Williams

There are 12 teams in our league, so figure your help accordingly. I'll let you know who's available on the wire when you ask.

    Thanks.

Just taking a quick look at your roster, I'm going to guess that you're getting kiled in rebounds and blocks. Other than Duncan, you don't have any great rebounders....well Miller is OK he probably gets you 7 or 8 a game.

I bet you may need to improve your FG% also. Williams and Gordon can bring down your average pretty quickly.

I would look to do trade Juwan and Deron to someone in hopes of getting a more dominant forward, and at the same time, improving your FG%.

And like you mentioned, getting Manu back should definetly make an impact for you.

Duncan is a bust on rebounding too. The last 7 games he has been averaging 8.5 RPG.

    That's about it, P<S.

    That's where I need help.

I just offered up Deron and Juwan for Mike Miller and Ike Diogu.

I'm not sure about Ike, he gets 14.7 MPG and last time here they did a whole interview because he got DNP-CD

Yeah, but I'm at a point where I might be able to park him on the roster as either trade bait (for a draft pick) or a late-season reserve.

I have five strong guards and can start Miller and Krstic at C and Duncan at F.

Agreed.....Ike may be really good someday...but I think he's still pretty questionable.

He was just made a starter, so his numbers may go up, but in his last 5 games he' averaged:

    24 minutes 14 points 1 assist but only 3.2 REBOUNDS .4 BLOCKS

I don't think that will really help you too much.

Something else you can try is to do a 2 for 1 trade......lump Gordon and Deron together to a team that is fairly weak in guards/assists. Your guards are so strong w/ Nash,Manu,Rip and Paul that you won't even miss those 2 guys. In return you should be able to get a quality forward in rebouds and blocks........such as.......T Murphy,Z Randolph,Okur,Gasol,Bosh,Okafor etc etc

I know, I just know that the guy I'm trading with might give him up anyway...if he somewhat balks, then I can drop to a two-for-one (at that point, he might drop somebody else to make the roster work).

Only problem with giving up Deron and Gordon for Luol Deng is I'm giving up a ton of threes and not getting much in the blocks department.

Ya Deng is not a great blocker.

As far as your 3's though, you should be OK w/ Nash James and Manu. plus you'll get a few from Rip and Paul.

I'd try to trade Deron and Manu. For some reason, I don't like Manu in Fantasy Leagues. He does the little things that don't show up on stat sheets. Besides, his numbers are down all around this year. So far atleast. You've got a of a backcourt, but those forwards aren't going to cut it.

Maybe consider a blockbuster trade with Steve Nash for a rebounding specialist (or two). Sometimes it takes a big name to make people want to budge...

Also consider picking up Bonzi Wells off the waiver wire when he gets back from injury... assuming he was dropped (although he probably wasn't if this is a keeper league). He's a good rebounding guard.

I have an Al Harrington/Stephon for Nash/Ricky Davis that I just turned down yesterday. I could probably get it back.

Just remember that Harrington has had his name mentioned in different trade rumors already.

You're losing out in almost every category except rebounds, in which there is only a 3 rebound defferential between Davis and Harrington. Between Nash and Marbury, Marbury only has mre steals than Nash. It's only by .5 a game too.

If you're going to throw Nash in a deal, you can do way better than this. That's just my opinion. Nash is a stud, Marbury is a good player on a bad team . You should get a stud in return.

Target a team with plenty of rebounders who needs a PG, and offer him Nash for his best big man or two solid big men.

I still don't think I'm taking it, but one the trade rumors side, I think I read where ATL told Harrington that there was almost no way they were going to trade him.

    Just some info.

Manu has his fair share of boards and steals, so I don't think getting rid of him would be your answer.

    I'd reject that.
You don't gain anything except for 5 steals and 11 blocks and like 50 rebounds.......in every other category, you lose.

Granted, I'm really great in assists, so I might be able to handle some losses there...let me get this guy's roster and maybe we can find a good counter-offer.

I just picked up Howard last week because of the injury to Yao.

I drafted Mason late because he SHOULD have flourished in the NOK system...I don't mind him being a spot start or bench guy because I figure he can only improve as the season goes on.
