Funny ... my house has been there for 53 years and it doesn't show. It looks like the median $$ for a house in Alamo Heights is what they had. I don't think mine is worth that much.![]()
You can look up the property value of any house at Bexar County Appraisal District ... but that's just the taxable value, market is usually a bit higher.![]()
mmmm, I have had this house appraised for much more than what that site said, but informative none the less.
It looks like it's picking up from BCAD's data. If you compare my street's data to BCAD, it's almost exactly the same.
Yikes, I should have sold my home last Summer... It's dropped in value by 10% since then.
Oh well.
If this is correct then the people we bought our current house from must have taken a huge loss when they sold their house to us back in 2000. Because on the ten year graph it shows the house dropped in value about 52K from the time it was built until they sold it to us.Now it's gone up 20K since we've owned it. Cool.

They don't have my city on there
That is way off. A place near ours recently sold for $500k and they have it listed at like 15. No way this thing is accurate.
Yeah ... one around the corner from me sold for $750K and I'm not sure where the one's for $10K are in the neighborhood to average it to $300K. There is nowhere near enough data there to get an accurate number.

I just bought mine last Aug. zillow price was right on the nose, as was the price range of the houses of my neighbors and the r/e agents I checked with.

Then I guess your area is where they have "lots of data."This is a beta site. We have lots of data in some areas, but little to no data in others![]()

If you just bought your house, than you are the one that determined its value.
my mom works for the state accessors office and says that site only shows the tax value. not the value of the house itself.
Really nice site in concept. Clean interface and easy access to data. Alas, the data is pretty wacky - the comparabes especially.
Bingo.
Estimates are just that. A better gauge of your home is what homes in your immediate neighborhood are selling for. That is what determines home value.
It was correct for what we bought our at in 2000 and approximately what ours is worth today. But I agree that it's the assessed value rather than the market value. It does seem to have all the accurate info of the houses in our area.
It doesnt seem to cover England for some reason............
