getting hurt is no fun
October 6, 2003
INDIANAPOLIS (Ticker) - Indiana Pacers guard Anthony Johnson will be sidelined up to six weeks with a broken finger, the team announced Monday.
Johnson sustained the injury - diagnosed as a spiral fracture of his left ring finger - during training camp practice Sunday and will miss at least four weeks.
The 29-year-old Johnson signed with the Pacers as a free agent in July after spending the last two years with the New Jersey Nets as star point guard Jason Kidd's backup. The six-year veteran scored 2.5 points per game last season with the Nets.
Johnson averaged 4.4 points and 2.1 assists in 335 games for five different teams.
