That's a cool idea, if only he played it out until the end. I actually bet he could have gotten permission had he contacted Wal-Mart and offered either a comission on any earnings from the story, or advertising rights (see: Jared From Subway) once the story about him broke.

I doubt he could have gotten much material from a 41-hour period, but a week-long stay in the vein of The Terminal (Tom Hanks) could produce a solid story.
