The NBA asked us not to, and they give out the press passes. Take it up with them.
Hosting files/films of NBA action requires the express written consent of the NBA. Linking to the host of said files/films does not. It is not illegal!

Do we have to all get express written consent for our avatars and sigs? Just wondering if need to get ahold of Matt Groening or if you need to round out some Breakfast club or whatnot permission slips.
Seriously, I am wondering what makes it ok to have photos's and vid's in our posts and posts on major (bigger, more spotlighted) sites but not to links to sites that use NBA material without consent.
I tried to reply right after i posted on that thread but alas, i can't find it now.
Apparently Phase 3 has progressed faster than normal.
Then you got PWNED!
Nope, that thread isn't here either. Guess i'll check in classic becuase obviously there was nothing worth deleting that thread over..............
Not really, small price to pay.
He's a anyway Tlong.
er doesn't realize the reason why this forum is so great is becuase it's open. Whether it be swearing or calling a mod a rotten cantelope infested corspe, that's WHY WERE ALL HERE!
Why don't you start up a spurs version of lakersunderground or another one of those mod-power trip sites?
This thread is here.
Flame away.
And as far as YouTube is concerned...
The Digital Rights Millenium Act ruled that content hosters (like myspace, YouTube, etc) are not legally responsible for the material that users upload to their service as long as the service employs someone who can be contacted by the rights-holder in order to have the copyrighted material removed.
So, the NBA can require YouTube to take down clips (one by one, they can't just say "Take down any clip we own"), but as long as YouTube does it, YouTube can't be held responsible for the clips up at any given point.
The NBA can take away press passes for any reason.
No it isn't.
Put the original one back up.
I spent a good 2 minutes of my life flaming your ass that either got posted right before you deted the thread or didn't make it through.
The original thread was just a link to NBA video that was never going to stay.
Now you have your little forum in this thread to flame me and rail against one of the few rules you have to follow around here without spamming the NBA board.
Have at it.
If ChumpDumper was President:
Walmart would be the only store to buy ANYTHING. After all, what you need is there anyway.
1984 would be the le of his biography, not a frightening tale of what could be.
The nba teams would not be allowed to sign players that are similar. Close enough? Right?
You didn't merge the threads, you deleted one and a sliver of the thread made it here in the forum of a new post.
If you're concerned about the Spurs taking away your press passes I understand. Hopefully this site will grow and Kori/LJ's influence in the market will become such that you need not be concerned. In my opinion it would be ridiculous for the Spurs to revoke your press passes for something like this.
Were I President, there would be no consequences for Kori if we allowed links to illegal NBA video.
Answer my question then , i was serious, that's why i said seriously. Do you just pick and choose what's legal or not, did you have a personal grudge against the poster, youtube.com or Clyde, or is there a difference beteween vids of bowen kicking wally or whatnot in a avatar without written consent from the NBA or merely someone not affiliated with the site posting a link to a place not affliated with the site having fun with NBA vids?
Soooooo, in other words you have no cares to what happans to those affected as long as you and your freinds are fine?
Please don't call it illegal after I have explained to you that it isn't.
I have avatars turned off. I know posters have been asked to take vids out of their sigs.
You didn't.
That's fine, you had already edited the link so it was gone.
Don't try to use that excuse.
Better delete them. Stern isn't going to roll with "ChumpDumper asked me to get rid of it"
That's pretty rude of you to let Kori's site take a fall because you merely "asked them"
I didn't do the asking.
Oh really?

It's an illegal video. We don't alow links to illegal video for the reasons I already stated.Hosting files/films of NBA action requires the express written consent of the NBA.
Why is this so difficult to accept?
