clutch factor is everything!
Here are the regular season efficiency rankings for all NBA players who have played this season.
Efficiency is calculated by:
(PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO)
Basically, it adds up the good things and subtracts most of the bad things. Personal fouls, technical fouls, and ejections are not included. It measures offense better than defense.
In the tables, the team is the player's current team. Rankings are indicated by the numbers in parentheses. The players are ordered by total efficiency, but you can see the rankings for efficiency/game and efficiency/minute.
The first table just shows the Spurs. The next table has all players.

So if Sean Marks Efficiency Per Minute ranks him # 49 in the NBA, doesn't that mean he's under used? Or does this just mean when he is on the court, he is as effective as anybody out there. Number 49 in the NBA, would rank him pretty highly in most teams. This ranks Sean THIRD for the spurs (per minutes played).

The problem with this stat is that on an equivalent basis 1 point != 1 reb != 1 steal != 1 turnover, etc.
Before you start trying to interpret good things out of it for Sean Marks and Nazr, you have to consider that Jamaal Sampson ranks #1 in the NBA in efficiency/minute.
