Mavs win? Spur fans will say their team needed more rest!

Spurs win? Mav fans will say they got a little rusty having to wait a week.

I think the real game will be game 3!

I think Game 1 mattered a lot to the Mavs, because it was the perfect chance for them to take away the HCA each team fought so hard for. Spurs were just comming off a tough 6 game series, had played just 36 hours earlier, and were hampered by injuries to Parker. It was the perfect time for the Mavs to steal a game when they had the chance.

Not that I don't think this series isn't going to go to 6 or 7 games.

    Yes, game 1 really matters.

Now, we only need THREE wins to advance.

Ask a stupid, simple question, get a stupid, simple (but correct) answer.

    Why game 3?
    Why not game 2?
Mavs just need 1 game on the road to put themselves in great postion.
This series is LOOOONG from being over.

Ask the cowboy behind you when he's done.

I think if the Spurs lose Game two? game one will not matter, The series will be even it will be like a new start, but if they win game two? Game one could come back to haunt the Mavs.
And I think game one is just for bragging rights,

Every game matters in the post season. Would you have made this post if the Mavs won?

I don't think it's as drastic as some people make it out to be (not over here as much -- over at ISH it's ridiculous) but I do think they all matter.

Mavs aren't dead because of this loss. Mavs don't suck because the Spurs beat them. Spurs aren't guaranteed a trip to the next round because they won game one. You know?

Although I do agree about Spurs fans would say that if they had lost...Mavs fans (not all, but some definently) will make similar excuses for this loss.

Actually haven't read too many excuses yet...thank god.

Spurs didn't play well at all, 3 for 13 from 3 pt range. Timmy carried the Spurs.

Mavs were hittin all their shots and were well prepared for the Spurs....

yet they choke in the last few mins and lose

Timmy said, they will play a lot better in Game 2, that is a scary thought for Mavs

I am not sure how true that is. How many teams won a 7 game series after losing game one? where is a Sports geek when you need him

Mavs lost the first two (at home) against Houston last year but won in 7.

Of course, the definending champs are a whole 'nother story. And we don't have home court.

game 1 does matter cause it sets the tone for the rest of the series. i think it mattered more to the mavs cause they know that the spurs can win in dallas. but the spurs know that dallas can win here so getting that first win is crucial.

    Game 1: Spurs

Game 1 matters when you need 4 to win. Doesn't guarantee a series win but it puts you one step closer than the other team.
