New Balance for sure.
I was out shopping for a new pair of shoes today, for no particular reason other than my only other tennis shoes are my New Ballance 880s and people are starting to take notice, and for some reason I could not seem to find anything that compared to my good ol' New Ballance. I left La Cantera with a new watch instead.
I started wearing NB exclusively four years ago, after my new Nikes completely fell apart two weeks into x-country season. The first pair lasted me the entire season, and was retired two years later. The next pair went through three months of summer training, and an entire season, putting on several thousand miles with only a few blisters, if that.
But even now, after running has completely erased itself from my vocabulary, I just cannot find a pair of shoes as comfortable as those made by New Ballance. I swear by them, for exercise or otherwise, and I don't think I will ever leave my dear old friend. It is probably the only relationship I will ever have that will be, truely, monogamous.
So, which brand of shoe do you prefer? Are you brand-loyal or are you a comfort ?
Or, on the alternative, is there any ONE thing or brand you are extremely loyal to, without exception? "The Spurs" is an assumed response here.
New Balance for sure.
I don't have a lot of fashion sense, but I do get my shoes right. For casual wear, it's Van's, Wallabees, and plain old topsiders. A good-looking man's shoe is timeless.
That said, my current fave is a pair of well-worn tan rockports.
Regarding comfort, mileage varies, but I'm pleased with my picks.
i have a strange foot. flipper shaped really.
small heel, extra wide toe pad.
my best bets are always skechers, vans & airwalks.
although it's been years since i had a pair of airwalks. reeboks classics always fit nice too, but the toe wears down long before the rest of the shoe.
Nike, Adidas, and Skechers.
Adidas
Converse, adidas and Puma
addendum: I am only anally-loyal to New Ballance whenever I just need a comfortable tennis shoe or one to work out/run in. As far as other shoes go, I couldn't care less.
I like some of Steve Madden's shoes, some Deisel, Bed:Stu... DSW is basically the best place on Earth- I am a sucker for a bargain, no matter what, even if I can afford better. Also, DSW is right next to Goodsports or whatever that place is. BAM!
Nike all the way
I have these
![]()
they are probably the most comfortable non-Jordans I have owned!
Im looking at getting the Air Max 360 in a few weeks
I also have a collection of Jordans, and the newest ones the XXI are very comfortable
i get this question at work all the time. if you come in at champs at northstar, ill show you some good running shoes. i just dont feel like typing alot, its better for me to show you than describe it.
most comfortable shoes i've worn are nike free's, for running and casual use. But they fall apart very easy![]()
but some shoes ill recommend is the nike 360s, NBs, and some of the Adidas shoes. the pumas we have are pretty light, but theyre also narrow, like i said if you come in ill show you.
I was just at the Champs at Northstar on Saturday
I bought a bunch of Jordan socks and a JB hat, I have a friend that works at Finishline, so I get all my shoes from them. But they have for JB merchandise, thats why I go to Champs!
BTW I have the XXIs in white and black and I love them both, Im not sold on the red suede. But I have pix of all the colorways and theyre are some good looking ones coming out soon!
this weekend the Retro 7s come out, and 2 more pairs of 7s come out on the 22nd
damn my collection is going to get HUGE!!
damn i was workin there saturday. let me know when you come back to get apparel so i can get commission!
there were two guys there about noon-ish
one guy said he had the DMP set, and he and I were talking about people getting mugged over that set when they came out.
then there was another guy up near the front of the store, but he was busy.
either one of those you?
you know what, i think i was the busy one because i remember overhearing a conversation about people gettin mugged over the DMPs.
NB are good shoes, but I haven't owned a pair for a while. I currently use a pair of Brooks Illusion 2, and they are very nice...super light and very breathable so my feet stay dry...I can feel a breeze pass through. I don't have brand loyalty when it comes to shoes though...whatever is good and at the right price at that time I guess.
yeah it was a Finish Line store in Austin (I think) but yeah, a lady had camped out all night to get her husband the DMP set, and as she was walking out to her car 2 seedy looking gentlemen approached her, luckily the security guards were close by and she got away. She was a friend of my freind that works at the Finish Line here on SA.
too bad the DMP was such a limited release, they are on ebay for like 1200 bux now.
yeah, we never sold the DMPs when they came out. were you talkin to a guy that had short black hair kinda like a flattop?
yep
I was wearing my XXI shirt and the all black XXis
BTW here is a new colorway out later this year
I like those alot
there is also a white on white with silver trim XXi, I think thats the next release.
yeah thats frank. i remember someone wearing a black XXI shirt because you were the first person i saw wear that XXI shirt. im fixin to buy those black Finley XXIs pretty soon
