    Kings: Webber feeling good

    News
Three practices into Kings' training camp, power forward Chris Webber is feeling and moving noticeably better than he did in last year's injury-marred season. "I played last [season] in excruciating pain," Webber told the Sacramento Bee. "It really hurt to get into a defensive stance and to try to rebound. Making moves, anything was painful. Now, it's all good. There is no pain whatsoever."

Webber missed 58 games while recovering from knee surgery (and an eight-game suspension) and never looked anywhere near 100 percent in 23 games. His numbers were down across the board, and he was obviously limited in his movement and explosiveness. However, when healthy, Webber is a multi-category monster and a definite second round value, so we'll be keeping a very close eye on his progress in the preseason.

Ailene Voisin: Webber's wounded knee is huge concern

Indeed, there should be no debating the fact that sometime within the next several weeks, the Kings have to make an absolutely necessary, coldly clinical assessment of their star player's physical condition, and then react both appropriately and decisively.Sac Bee
