If they suspend Mbenga for going into the stands, they should suspend Cuban everytime he goes onto the court.
Wow that's gonna hurt ... not.

NEW YORK -- Dallas Mavericks center DJ Mbenga has been suspended six games without pay for entering the spectator stands, the NBA said Thursday.
The NBA will not be taking action against Mavericks' owner Mark Cuban for his involvement in the incident as his actions did not violate NBA rules and were not otherwise inappropriate.
The incident occurred during the first quarter of the Mavericks' 106-86 loss to the Phoenix Suns at US Airways Center on Tuesday. Mbenga will begin serving his suspension tonight when the Mavericks host the Suns in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals at the American Airlines Center.
If they suspend Mbenga for going into the stands, they should suspend Cuban everytime he goes onto the court.
We all laugh at this, but if they end up playing the Heat in the finals this could actually be significant. If Diop and Dampier get in foul trouble trying to guard Shaq, Mbenga might've actually come in handy, just to buy you a little time. I don't think you can get away with playing Van Horn on Shaq...![]()
Yet another NBA screwjob against the Mavs. Screw that wanker Stu Jackson and his cowboy justice.![]()
DJ Moose Daryl Johnston Mbenga is the man...
If I reckon correctly, Mavericks fans are now on record as believing, despite well-settled league precedent, that players shouldn't face suspensions (or should be minimally punished) for either: (a) punching other players in the groin; or (b) entering the stands during a game.
That and their PA announcer gets to chat "louder" all the time when the other team has the ball, even though NBA rules clearly state that he must shut up after the away team advances the ball past half court... I guess Cuban hasn't charged the floor or blogged about his own team cheating yet, so the NBA hasn't done anything about it...
If the Mavs are lucky enough to get past the Suns and end up playing the Heat in the Finals this suspension could prove very costly. The Mavs would need every foul they have to give to have any hope of keeping Shaq in check.
I'm a Mavs fan and I didn't have a problem with JET's suspension...
and I don't really have a problem with this, but 6 games does seem like a little much given the way the incident happened. It's not like he stormed the stands throwing punches...he just went up to make sure everything was ok. I certainly don't blame him for doing it...
them's the rules. how long was antonio davis' suspension? 5 games? i guess since players should know better they upped it a bit.
I understand. I'm generalizing . . . to a degree. I've read comments from your brethren who think that the Terry suspension was ridiculous.
You might think the 6 games is excessive, but Antonio Davis got 5 games, and he was going into the stands to check on his wife. I think, given that precedent, that the league had to give at least 6 games to a guy who, unless AJ and his wife have a very intersting relationship with the young big man, had no particular relationship with the person for whom he claimed to be checking on.
I think it's good policy to discourage players from entering the stands under any cir stances, whether its the regular season or the playoffs. That policy is best enforced by consistent application of precedent and this seems to be consistent with what's been done before.
Wow. Humble Billy talk. This guy has no boundaries to his hate. I hear the Mavs mopboys and girls sell drugs at their middle schools. them, too.
MBenga walking up into the stands is 6x as bad as Jet punching Finely in the balls...
Just seems odd...
If the Mavs NEED MBenga, they're in bad shape...
I'd love to see MBenga whip some ass if a fight broke out though![]()
LOL...Humble Billy sucks just like ALL of the PA guys in the NBA...
As far as him talking when he's not supposed to, I'm sure it's Spurs fans just trying to come up with something else to whine about...![]()
Nobody is worse than Detroit though![]()
Man that hurts against the Heat. Powell to me would be a better choice than Van Horn to guard. Almost anyone would be though.![]()
Yeah, Detroit is the worst
If I don't have to hear "DEEEETROIT BAS-KET-BALL!" ever again, it will be too soon.
And I'm not really whining, I'm just highlighting a double-standard that "Mr. Fair" Cuban wants to attain with his constant bickering and blogging.
Only the ones from Plano.
It would be hack-a-Shaq time with Powell, Armstrong, and whatever other scrub was at the end of the bench...![]()
From a PR standpoint, a player going into the stands is always, always, always much worse than a player punching another player. The Antonio Davis and MBenga suspensions are relatively light compared to the suspensions given for similar excursions by other players -- perhaps because neither Davis nor MBenga got into a scuffle once in the stands, ala Vernon Maxwell or the Indianapolis Thug Boys. I think from a policy standpoint, though, a harsh suspension for entering the stands is correct. And, from the standpoint of precedent, MBenga got a perfectly fair penalty.
Hahahaha, like we really give two s about your standpoint. Of course I knew Mbenga would be suspended but whatever, we'll deal. Anyway, Spurs fans should stop preaching, it's not my fault all your nastiness remains on the court (Re: Bowen). Nice video capture by the Arizona media though, that stupid with a beer in one hand and a *bird* in the other looked classy as .
So does this mean your Leonard's alter ego?
Of course you do. You're on our board.Hahahaha, like we really give two s about your standpoint.
Rules are rules.
You can be absolutely secure in knowing that the sentiment is mutual.
Unlike MavFan, though, I'm not advocating my opinion on how suspensions should be doled out -- I'm saying the league has been consistent. You es are the ones who whine when the league treats Mavs players just as it treats everyone else.
It was an excessive penalty. The Davis incident was much worse. As was David Harrison's role in the Indy Brawl. Both got lighter sentances. Should have been two games. Just plain stupid.
it will not maybe mavs will be fishing as soon as the suns play 2 more games
