Thanks for taking the time to delve a bit deeper into the series. This series would have some classic matchups.
The most dominant force in the playoffs should be addressed first: Dirk Nowitzki.
Miami will rarely play Dirk with Haslem. That just doesnt work. Dirk is taller than him (rebounds, shooting), and quicker. Dirk would make short work of Haslem on offense. I would expect James Posey, Antoine Walker, and Shandon Anderson to all spend time guarding Dirk, as Riley would probably prefer to see Dirk work his jumper than to take lumbering PF's and C's to the basket. Expect to see alot of Posey on Dirk in this series.
Dirk is really the key to the series, because as we all saw in the Mavs/Spurs series, Dirk's mere presence on the court throws the opposition's rotation out of whack. Dirk will not play C when Shaq plays, but will probably see time at C when he rests. Against Miami, Dallas will be able to dicatate matchups.
Dallas will probably throw this one out there first and see if it sticks:
Dampier
Nowitzki
Howard
Griffin
Terry
The first guys off of the bench will be Stackhouse, Harris, and Diop.
They will be matched up with:
O'Neal
Posey
Walker
Wade
Williams
The most interesting matchup of the series will be Howard vs. Wade. Howard has the skills on both ends to counter Wade's production. Howard is also a physical player who could frustrate Wade. I see this one being really fun.
