Nice Guy Eddie: C'mon, throw in a buck!
    Mr. Pink: Uh-uh, I don't tip.
Nice Guy Eddie: You don't tip?
Mr. Pink: I don't believe in it.
Nice Guy Eddie: You don't believe in tipping?
Mr. Blue: You know what these chicks make? They make sh*t.
Mr. Pink: Don't give me that. She don't make enough money, she can quit.
Nice Guy Eddie: I don't even know a f****g Jew who'd have the balls to say that. Let me get this straight: you never ever tip, huh?
Mr. Pink: I don't tip because society says I have to. Alright, I tip when somebody really deserves a tip. If they put forth an effort, I'll give them something extra. But I mean, this tipping automatically, that's for the birds. As far as I'm concerned they're just doing their job.
Mr. Blue: Hey, this girl was nice.
Mr. Pink: She was okay. But she wasn't anything special.
Mr. Blue: What's special? Take you in the back and **** your ****?
Nice Guy Eddie: I'd go over twelve percent for that

    and later

Mr. Pink: I'm very sorry the government taxes their tips, that's fu***d up. That ain't my fault. It would seem to me that waitresses are one of the many groups the government f***s in the a** on a regular basis. Look, if you ask me to sign something that says the government shouldn't do that, I'll sign it, put it to a vote, I'll vote for it, but what I won't do is play ball. And as for this non-college bullsh*t I got two words for that: learn to f**in' type, 'cause if you're expecting me to help out with the rent you're in for a big f**in' surprise.

food service - 15% minimum. I tip o nthe whole bill, food and alcohol. Some people only tip on the food.
I tip 18% -22% on averrage tho for excellent service.

barbers - $3-$6. depending. Even tho I as a women have more hair thne my husband, we usually tip his barber more since his ahir is particuarly hard to cut. it;s super thick and it gorws weird. Hel;s been ed over at the barbers plenty of times.

bellboy - I've always tipped $1 per bag. someone let me know if that is wrong.

restaurants:min 15% at a minimum.... but will tip up to 35% if the person is really bad ass...otherwise 17-15% is norm.
bartenders: depends on how i'm drinking.. like if i know i'm going to be there for a while, then if i order a beer, say 2.50, then i give the bartender(ess) a $5 on the first drink...if it is something on rocks and say like 4-5 bucks, then i give them a $10... even though it is a couple bucks theyusually they remember me and i can get the rest of my drinks asap and only have to tip like a buck per drink... however, if i run a tab and only have to spend like $15-20 bucks bc my liquor drinks were so strong, then i double it as well...
barbers: man, i had to stop going to barbers bc they only knew how to shave my ing head...pissed me off.. now, i go to a lady and her cut is like $16, so i give her like 5 bucks extra...
bellboys: , i can carry my own stuff! haha... actually, i would like to say that, but yeah, $1 per bag if a lot, or 2-3 bucks if only 1 or 2 bags... would feel bad if the dude had to go all the way to my room for $2.
strippers: haven't been to one in a looooooong time... but it depended on how they acted...
vallets: for the past couple years when i hear the word valet.... i just lmao!

when the pistons were at the westin, most just didn't tip bc they were assholes... that is what a dude i know who works there told me...

18% at a restaurant. 15% is only acceptable if your 16 years old and taking some chick out to eat that you're trying to nail.

    +About 5 bucks if it's under 50. About 10 if it's over.
+About 3-5 bucks. But I have this one guy now who does me good for 20 each time.
    +Cheap, 2-3 bucks maybe.
+No tip. If she's real good at the end of the night give her a 10 or 20, that's it.
+I don't do vallet. Park your own car you lazy bas .

No, you don't tip for every service. In fact, you hardly have to tip. Well I don't.

    I said about, man.

If I go out with a girl and the bills like 35, I'll leave 40. If it's 15, I'll leave 20. If it's closer to 50 like 45...I'll leave 55. I think that's reasonable. If it's that big of a deal, tell me...I'll go to the kitchen and bring the tray to myself.

    you said under 50 - you;d leave about $5.
thats pretty much indicating that if the bill were $43 you would leave $5 ... thats barley 11%

if the bill was $55 and you were to leave your "about" $10.... well, thats fine.

You think waiters deserve that much?

They're waiting about 4-5 tables an hour, you think they deserve like $50+ an hour just for refilling your drinks and carrying a tray? Damn...I should drop out and work at Zios.

so what country are you from?

somethign you may or maynot know about food servers in the US is that most are paid $2.15 an hour by thier employer. the minimum wage is $5.15 - which is a really ty amount and they don;t even get that.
    They survive on tips.
Also the majority of them get $0 on thier paychecks since most of thier $2.15 per hour has been witheld to pay the fed taxes on the guesstimated amount they earned in tips.

EX: if you waited on X amount of tables in one night and thier food tabs totaled $871 then the employer would guess that you had recieved a minimum of $104 (12%) in tips. he would add that to the "wages" you earned and withold the appriate tax from your check.

you think it;s that ing easy?
    it ain't.
hitting all the points of service with each table, makeing sure all the orders are cooked on time and hte way the customer wants, keeping up with your entire section, co-ordinating the whole thing.,
Plus you have all kinds of cleanign duties beofre and after your shift that you are not getting tips for.
plus there are plenty off assholes out there who don;t tip.
or only tip $1 per person at the table.
or only tip $1 per $10 they spent.
and they sit and take up your table for a ing hour and half.

yes PDBM - maybe you should get a job at Zios. learn a bit.

however, with tips, they can average over 10 per hour.. and bartending is where it is at in food service... i usually made 5.25-7.25 plus tips! sweet while in college..

and oh yeah, the waitstaff also has to tip out the bartender

You know, I have so many tourists come in and are amazed that I am so well spoken. They have the nerve to ask why I don't do something else. I mean, I probably will soon, but they don't realize that we probably make more then they do, despite the fact we make 2.13 an hour. Besides, any re can wait tables. Except people coming from telemarketing. Those people really are idiots when it comes to dealing with people face-to-face.

Nobody's forcing them to work there.

Why should I be obligated to help them survive? I think $5-10 for my table is more than enough. If they have a "whole section they have to take care of" like you say...than multiply that $5-10 by the number of tables and I think they make a reasonable amoutn per night.

I do just as much as they do, I have "cleaning duties", I make sure s running right...I don't get tipped. But I don't expect other people to help me survive either.

If it's too much trouble for them, tell them to go apply at West Telemarketing.

When you go oput ot eat at a sit down service restaurant. Yes you are expected to pay for that service. you pay the kitchen for the food and you pay the serveers tips for the service.

if you don't thinkthey should gewt that pament then go eat at Luby's.
Don;t take thier service and then not pay the appropriate amount for it.
Applbee's an outback have car side to go - I guess thats taoilor made for you.
Otherwise just stick to fast food.
You can't go to a sit down service restaurant and not pay for that service.

this isn;t about "if" servers should get thier $$. thats a ing given for most normal people. the conversation here is "how much".
