I posted this somewhere. He needs muscle.
So was Garnett when he came into the league and look at the impact he left on foes. I don't mind that he is thin, he looks like he has enough athleticism to outhustle most bigs in the league and he has ok hands, needs to work probably more on his footwork and repertoire of moves, but all that can be taught. He's still just a kid. We need to be patient with him.
>rasho
Tayshaun, Kevin, Manu, etc. play at all-star levels without bulking up.
This "we need beefcake" players is bull .
If Ian's game was ready right now, I'd welcome his skinny ass, right now.
But he plays down low. He needs muscle.
Tell Jason Kidd he needs height and hops (he has neither) to be a good rebounder because he plays the perimeter.
Rebounding is first of all getting into position, which Rasho and Nazr do very poorly with well-known results, not about beef.
Like Camby?
I agree somewhat. However, the players you mentioned play different positions than Ian. Duncan is effective in the post because of his strength. The reason why a player like Van Horn isn't as effective down low is because he lacks that type of strength.
However, quickness is another way to score down low, but it doesn't hurt to have both strength and quickness.
The thing is hes not ready. The good thing about the video is its recent and he looks raw, if we bring him now bench time wont improve him.
reminds me of drob more so than hakeem.
Mahinmi > Rasho

Did,you ever see him play?
camby has a tattoo to scare ppl off, he dont need muscles
Can anyone send me the video link itself without going through youtube? Its blocked for me.
Well, once Ian starts polishing his game more and he stops growing completely. I think we could be looking at another DROB, because his athleticism is there, he just needs to learn more fundamentals, but this guy has hops, so I say don't rush a good thing. let him develop. he is going to be Tony's running mate for years to come, because if he does come over, it may be towards the end of Manu and Tim's primes.
hey DRob was pretty skinny at the academy...I admit he wasnt that skinny but still, rome wasnt built in a day. and truthfully I dont think this guy will be another DRob cause there will never be another.... but like I said I do like what I see

Man I miss watching D-Rob play. He never won a ring alone, but it was awesome watching that dude play. I remember him doing a 360 dunk.
yeah we may have never won a ring but I got nothin but love for those days
yeah, I've seen Rasho play many times
if our biggest dispute(worry) is if a player is either dream or david robinson. I really could care less they are both great big man.
I also I am againts ya'll pressuring him to take steriods or growth harmones just to get muscle. Just make sure this dude doesn't ride a motorcycle!!!!!!
Eh.
Looks a little raw. Plus who dunks in lay-up drills?![]()
maybe we can bring in DRob as a big man coach to teach Ian some post moves and mold him into the player DRob was. Alot of teams bring in retired big men on the coaching staff to teach the young talent (Kareem-bynum, Ewing-yao).
