I think not since he is getting more than the minimum. Ian probably could if he was coming over this summer.
Since all the other players around the NBA are signing I was wondering if Javtokas can sign as well as any other player from the Euroleague.

Well yeah that's what I meant. If we can reach an agreemaent with him. Didn't we do that with Fabricio last year?
Where did that message go?
He deleted it himself.
Draft picks can actually sign now.
They can announce deals but not formally sign them until July 12th like he said.
you do not see you read
they probabaly want to see how other sigings go to see how much money they have left over.
then we might start throwing around vet mins to people
Well, well. You little smartypants.![]()
TORONTO -- The Toronto Raptors wasted little time getting Andrea Bargnani under contract.
Three days after becoming the first European player selected with the top overall pick in the NBA draft, Bargnani signed his rookie contract Saturday.
Under the NBA's rookie scale, Bargnani will make $7.78 million in the first two years of the deal, which runs through 2007-08. The Raptors hold club options for the next two years of the contract.

1st round picks can sign now, and second rounders can be given a qualifying tender, kind of an intent to sign.
7.78 per year? He's totally overpaid.
That's the total for the first two years.
that is the nba rules
that is what he has to make
Since he is a draft pick of ours...we can go over the cap to sign them right to whatever we want or whatever the NBA rules are for draft picks, am i mistaken?
Since he is a second rounder, if we sign him for anything above the minimum, I'm sure we have to wait until the regular FA signing period when the amounts of the exceptions are known. Were he a first round pick, his signing amount would be independent of the cap.
