SPURS WAIVE MONTEIRO
SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have waived guard Valter Monteiro.
Monteiro, a 6-3 guard, played one preseason game for the Spurs, scoring 7 points and grabbing 1 rebound versus the Knicks on 10/16.
The Spurs roster now stands at 17.
I think they didn't release him the day he flew back to Angola because players with non-guaranteed contracts are paid per day they last in training camp. So for holding back the waivers, he probably got a couple more thousand dollars.

The Spurs are all class in the way they are taking care of alot of these guys. Pop and RC realize that they take away dreams just as quick as they may make them come true and they handle it very well. Good luck to Valter!
