Wow. That would be pretty good. Gibson has a way to go doesn't he???
Take it for what it's worth, but I read on the internet this morning that the Cavs are thinking about an offer from San Antonio that would have them drafting Daniel Gibson[Texas Longhorns]and sending him here for Scola's rights.Once again take it for what it's worth.

What kind of creature is that Daniel ... is someone that could help us thinkinf in Western Conference needs?
Like I said it's just a rumor, but if it happens we won't have to wait 10 years for him to get here.
I'm not enamored with Gibson's handle at all, and I think he makes some bad decisions with the basketball. I also don't know that he has the same kind of range that Beno does on his jumper. But he's bigger and stronger than Beno, and likely more confident than Beno. And, in the end, I guess if you could manage a first rounder who fills a need from Scola's rights, you'd have done some good, so that would be a positive.
He is a good shooter from what I saw. He is a pretty good defender and seems to be a very good guy. I wouldn't mind that pick. He could very well step in and be the primary backup to Tony.
I'd rather trade him for a vet that way we know what we are getting more or less. Draft picks even for the best team are risky and unproven.
At the very least, Gibson would certainly start out as a fan favorite.
Gibson could be great or a bust, but it's worth a shot.
I think I know where you found that rumor.
Anyway, Gibson is a mess and not worth Luis Scola's rights.
As an aside, if you do this deal, I'd think that would end the Speedy Claxton courtship unless you had plans to ship Gibson out later this summer as part of another deal. That would be some rather complex manuevering, though.
If you do can u post a link because I can't find it now.
I dont know about this...
Any mock draft that I've seen, I haven't found that had Gibson going any higher than mid second round.
Gibson is a big, big stretch even for the late first round.
This is Danny Ferry and R.C. Buford helping each other out with a smokescreen. All it is.
I hope not. Gibson isn't able to effectively run a team as a PG at the NBA level. He wasn't able to do it consistently in the Big 12 either. That's why Rick Barnes switched him to off-guard after the Duke game. He doesn't handle ball-pressure well and loses his court vision and focus.
Gibson isn't that high of a pick but beno can't be Tony's back-up.The Spurs need help with Tony on the bench.
I think the concern that some have is that Gibson has many of the same problems that Beno has, but isn't nearly as good a passer or shooter. I'm not sure that's the solution to the problem.
Let's see...Spurs and Cavs rumored to have a deal at #25 for Scola's rights. Undoubtedly this helps the Spurs try to snag a higher pick for Scola.
Understatement, but true, FWD.
Ref: Dockery's mockery (Duke game). Paulino and Abrams ran the point the 2nd half of the season last year.
What? Cool, the Spurs trading Scola twice what a great idea!
RC's always been amazing in the draft, but this seems crazy. Scola would be great on Cleveland though, especially considering they wouldn't have to overpay that pos Drew Gooden.
Might as well let Scola go free agent as to draft Gibson. Total slug. Can't even wear Beno's sneakers.
Gibson can't handle on the ball pressure by another good PG. The Duke game proved that and when he was matched against other good guards he became really indecisive and unfocused. I just don't trust him.
It'd be nice at least to have someone who can stay in front of Jason Terry, Devin Harris, Leandro Barbosa, etc. Beno is all but useless against those guys.
