I don't uderstand how waiving a player works. So does there contract count against your cap? Even if they resign with another team? Anybody care to explain, please?
He'd be placed on waivers for a couple of days. If any team with cap space picks up his contract, the Kings are off the hook. If not, the Kings have to pay and it counts against their cap, and Hart is a FA.
There is a small chance someone would pick him up. It's not a huge deal.
