I thought that Paul hates Re .
The only time I can recall a guy throwing his NBA teammate from a rival school under the bus is when Stackhouse called out Grant Hill for being soft the same year Grant ground his ankle to powder for the Pistons. Jerry Stackhouse is a much bigger waste of oxygen than Paul or Re .
A couple of years ago, Chris Paul was defending JJ in a game and Re slapped him. JJ was called for it, but it was something that Chris has carried with him.

I'm sure he will. JJ Re is not half the player Chris Paul is; and if it really gets ugly, Re 's gonna be the one they kick out of there.
Chris Paul punched Julius Hodge in the nutsack. If Paul is carrying a grudge over being slapped by JJ a few years ago, he has no room to talk.
I would hope he's just joking since JJ is a Dukie and he's a Demon Deacon.

I was just going to mention that. I'd imagine most players would take a slap over the punch to the nuts.
That being said, I think Chris Paul is joking because of the rivalry.
