    Jumaine Jones | 33

    Born: Feb 10, 1979
    Height: 6-8 / 2,03
    Weight: 218 lbs. / 98,9 kg.

Athletic small forward with a solid 3 point stroke and decent on the glass. Shouldn't be that expensive. Spurs were interested in him a few years back.

    He's 27 -- 33 is his jersey number.

Pretty good rebounder for a 3, range, athleticism. Affordable.

    Good addition.

    I like him a lot.
He is just a role player but he fills a need for us (physical SF who is a good rebounder). A SG/SF rotation of Manu/Bruce/Finley/Jones is very good and versatile.
However, I won't give him more than $3M/year for him.

Quick, give me a list of all the 6'10" small forwards out there ready to come play Spurs basketball for the MLE or less.

Jumaine Jones is a solid player. He played with us last season, and I always liked his game. Plus, he has playoff experience when he played with the Sixers in 2001. Good pick up. For the MLE? I'm not sure...but he's worth a look.

off the top of my head Jared Jeffries and Vladimir Radmanovic are the only free agents i can think of that are 6'10 SFs. Also i said i like Jones and would love him on this team if we can't get that 6'10 guy.

I doubt Jumaine will command the full MLE.

No way Jeffries gets more then the MLE or even close to that, he only scored 6ppg and 5rebs. you don't throw big money at a guy like that.

Someone will give him more than the MLE. The guy is stuck behind Antawn Jamison for chrissakes. When AJ was out, Jeffries was going off for 16 and 8 this year.

Jeffries isn't stuck behind anybody, and he will definitely get more than the MLE str8 up. He's Washington's Tayshaun Prince.

    Oh , he's a SF? i thought he was a center!

Me saying he's too short has more to do with what the spurs need more (athletic 6'10 forward) then him being a SF.

I don't see much wrong with Jones. Spurs need to find a solid reserve behind BB this summer. Jones fits the prototypical profile for a 3 in the Spurs' system.

Jeffries might be gettable for the MLE. Word is that with ton of guaranteed contracts NOT COUNTING Jeffires, Washington won't match. If that's the case, he'll almost have to settle for the MLE, as I doubt teams with caproom will throw it in his direction. That leaves exceptions. Being taller and more athletic he'd be my choice, then Jumaine, as affordable available players go. Jones is a pretty good shooter, but he's not much bigger or better at rebounding than Bowen. One thing that popped out at me is that almost across the board, Jeffries numbers in the postseason are better than his career numbers.

Not yet, but he could end up better then prince. Jeffries only get 5 shots a game with Arenas and Jamison taking most of the shots, also the wiz are a bad defensive team while Jeffries is a good defender. Put him on a team like the spurs and he'd shine on the defensive side or on a team like PHX and he'd put up number similar to Boris Diaw.

I live in DC and Word is that Jeffries will resign with the Wiz. He'd be great as a Spur, very good defender.
