'bout time. The dude has been a waste.
Drew Henson is not going to be on roster this year," Bill Parcells told reporters Wednesday.
"I just didn't see enough. We tried very diligently with this guy," Parcells said.
The Cowboys didn't announce any roster moves involving Henson on Wednesday.
Henson was inactive as the No. 3 quarterback in all 16 games behind Drew Bledsoe and Tony Romo last season. He took snaps at quarterback just twice in 2004, and was replaced in the second half by Vinny Testaverde in the only game he has started for the Cowboys.
In March 2004, the Cowboys acquired Henson as their apparent quarterback of the future from the Houston Texans, for a third-round draft pick. The Texans drafted Henson in the sixth round in 2003. Dallas gave him an eight-year contract that guaranteed him $3.5 million and could be voided after four years.
Before that, Henson had played three seasons of professional baseball in the New York Yankees organization. His last snap in a meaningful game had been for Michigan in the Citrus Bowl on New Year's Day 2001.
Henson started eight games that 2000 season with Michigan, a year after he had split time with Tom Brady.

If he is not going to make the roster and really sucks that bad in camp, why did they try so hard to get him and waste picks for him?
That is a very good question...I was shaking my head then as well.
And are they going into the season with just two QB's? That is pretty brave. I think they need to pull someone off the wire or consider a trade.
I think they still have Matt Baker. Or did they waive him?
Matt Baker is still on the team, as far as I know. Good luck to Henson. Glad to see Romo is FINALLY valued above him. Or maybe this was CIA Parcells all along.![]()
Mel is correct...Matt Baker is still there and is now the 3rd guy unless they bring someone else is which is doubtful.
I am with Mel...glad to see Romo get some work.
The word is that they may bring in a vet or just go into the season with 2 QBs. I think Baker will be on the practice squad. Patrick Crayton could always be listed as the emergency 3rd QB.
interesting. I wouldn't go into the season with just 2 though. Maybe they are waiting for the first big round of cuts in the league.
That is what I was thinking I think they will pick up someone off the wire.
We had that guy for a while, you dont want him.
Well he brought back Testaverde.....maybe Phil Simms is next! :p
