Actually I think it was just kids in the area being stupid. Our complex is next to another one which has had issues with people. Our apartment is facing the other complex. Behind their fence in the corner people like to barbecue and one time kids were lobbing charcoal at our building just because they weren't being watched and wanted to see if they could hit anything. I think it was something like that....Our main window is next to our neighbors main window so it a big inviting glass target. Who knows.

go buy some chicken wire and staple it in around the windows ;D
Or get a paintball gun and sit there and then start spraying them. Get the cheap one so you don't feel bad when you trash it so you don't get caught
