A private Venture Capital group made up of mostly government officials and big business. They seem to profit in times of war due to their defense contractor connections.
Called the ex-Presidents club, but many government officials and top business people are members (from around the world).
Their offices just happened to be located on Pennsylvania Avenue midway between the White House and the Capitol building, and handy to the FBI headquarters and numerous other government departments.
NOTE: United Defense went Public (IPO) shortly after 9-11. United is the Carlyle Groups crown jewel of defense holdings. Wonder what the opening price was, and what it is now? (See below)

Eisenhower's Warning of a Military Industrial Complex:
http://www.buzzflash.com/interviews/03/06/23_briody.html I find it interesting that this private Group of ex-dignataries and powerful people get filthy rich on WAR and anything related to it.
I also find it interesting that the Bush's are members and both Bush's have gone to war, enriching this GROUP and their own pockets.
They invest over 435 pension funds including 40% overseas, along with the Texas Teachers Pension fund, etc. I wonder if there are any conflicts with Bush's new Pension Protection Act of 2006 (just passed) or any parts of the new law that might also benefit this group? Anyone know?

Do you really think the influential members of this organization can be honest and not use their power to influence our government or benefit from insider information? NO!
