I have no idea but we are stacked at LB so who knows when he will get his chance.
Is it too early to start wondering if Dallas wasted a pick on this kid? Maybe not in terms of his talent, but in his usefulness to the team.

Agreed. It's hard to say, because they're stacked at linebacker. Who would you play Carpenter over? He'll probably be a decent LB, but never a perennial pro-bowler.
I believe in the draft thread didn't you keep saying
carpentercarpentercarpenter ??![]()
It was more like...
CAAAAAAAAAAAAARPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEN TERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but yeah...
the more time he has to develop, the better. brady james came along quite well with limited pt his first year or two. he'll get his shot.
Whoever the next FA is at LB, he will fill in for him when someone overpays the current LB on the market.
well I think he will be fine, but AJ hawk is looking more and more like a bust every day.
I see that point, but Brady James was a 4th round pick, not the #18 overall.
if he steps up when he gets his shot, it will be ok. i see what you're saying but i think the boys are solid at LB this year, no hurt in him working hard on special teams and playing when he can. grabbing an offensive lineman if a good one was available may have been a better choice, but time will tell.
Drafting O linemen late in the first round is like playing russian roulette with a full chamber. Nothing good can come of it.
Well, Carpenter has been inactive for 2 of 3 games which is an effort of Jacobs/Peterman proportions.
