Ffriend suspended ffor a ffight?
F that.
NEW YORK, Oct. 13, 2006 -- Atlanta Hawks forward Lorenzen Wright and Memphis Grizzlies forward Kimani Ffriend have each been suspended one game without pay, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations.
Wright’s and Ffriend’s suspensions are a result of fighting and each throwing a punch with 2:15 remaining in the third period of the Hawks 108-91 win over the Grizzlies at FedEx Forum in Memphis on Oct. 11.
The suspensions will be served for the first regular season game that each player is available to play. The 2006-07 NBA regular season begins on Tuesday, Oct. 31. Ffriend, who was waived earlier today by the Grizzlies, will serve his suspension upon his return to the NBA on an active regular season roster.

Totally!
and people were crazy because we get Elson instead of Wright...
Yeah because the last thing Spurs fans want is a center who'd stand up for himself.
The last thing Spurs fans want is a center who won't be able to help Spurs because he is suspended.
Soft players win championships, just ask the new center who resorts to phobic name-calling when his manhood is tested.
I know that you're in love for manhood-tester.
I've said that I would have taken Elson over Wright because even if Wright was slighty better, Wright's character was bad. Facts tend to prove my POV.
Slightly better? No points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks or anything other than multiple fouls and turnovers in 18 mintues for Elson. Good to see your boy is off to a good start.
Plus he has great character.![]()
So you judge the level of a player only on 1 preseason game ...![]()
"only on 1 preseason game"
of course not:

The guy is so useless. Not really an NBA big man.
In 05/06 :
Elson : 4.9 ppg, 4.7 rpg, .532 FG% in 21.9 min
Wright : 5.8 ppg, 5.1 rpg, .478 FG% in 21.7 min
Based on last season stats Wright isn't better than Elson.
Wright was better years before but you can wonder if last year was just a bad year or if the main reason of his decline was his age. I think it's both and that's why I've said that Wright is only slighty better than Elson. However he isn't better enough to offset his bad at ude.
If you think that a 5/5 player isn't a nba big man, you should look more closely at nba centers production. I've never said that Elson is a starting quality player but I think that he will be able to give 20-25 solid mpg alongside Duncan.
